Well, it's one big happy thread of situation-belittling, sadly. Not that such a fact justifies belittling - wasn't my goal to start. Still isn't my goal for that matter. Isn't even something I enjoy thinking I've done. Others seem not to mind at all. It's a game of who-suffers-more now. Isn't that helpful to everyone? I thought it started as just some frustration and a comment on what we were doing about the situation. I didn't know I was going to start a festival of put-downs and attacks.

But when it comes to belittling my situation, I get a little *more* frustrated.

Never said two weeks was beyond the pale. Never said I "deserved" a speedy packet 4. But I continue to think it totally normal to want to get packet 4 as soon as possible. Some mailed P3 the same day or a few days after me and got an early July interview date. That's awesome! Who wouldn't enjoy the same kind of processing time via the London Embassy.

The mystification continues.

I sincerely tried to make you feel better, and appeal to your sense of logic, by showing you that others have waited longer than you (or as long as you), Daisy. I didn't do that to belittle you, or say that your feelings are invalid, or anything else, for that matter. I simply tried to put a mirror in front of you. I was hoping that doing that might trigger you to say, 'You know what, I guess I AM being a little nervous now for nothing' - it would have been great if that had been what happened, and if you DID feel better. That's the only reason I ever contributed to these boards to begin with.

I suppose the end result of that NOT happening has been the 'who suffers more' comparisons. I'm sorry if I somehow contributed to that, as it was not my intention.

I know that the only thing that will truly make you feel better is receiving the interview date. I don't even think that hearing London has processed packet 3 will help you very much.

I agree - the mystification continues. All I know is I gave it my best shot.

Tracy - I'm sorry, I really wasn't referring to you or what you said, except to acknowledge that I was contributing to ugly belittling behavior.

I really wasn't being nervous or overly stressed to start. It sounds that way now after the string of posts between me an RJ. But it was hardly an impassioned, hysterical complaint that set her off this morning or yesterday or whenever it was.

Ok - thanks. I certainly hoped my intentions were coming across correctly.

I honestly don't think anything 'set her off' (RJ that is). I thought her first post replying to you was well intentioned, and in a way, worried about how it was effecting you. Where its gone from there does take two, though. I'm not placing blame, just saying what's what. I hope each of you can see where the other is coming from, and call it a day.

I hadn't realized he needed to leave the country during that processing time, my mistake.

Would that be the only disadvantage or do you think one might feel just a little more powerless than you do now? I've experienced both waiting for Packet 4 (we had to wait for nearly 8 weeeks) and waiting for our name check to clear. I know which one was worse.

I never "attacked" you or belittle you or your feelings. You've wasted far too many keystrokes to make me believe you aren't that bothered and obviously aren't interested in any observations on the embassy process other than a select few, so I won't contribute any further on the matter.

I've noticed that the whole process seems alot less stressful if the beneficiary is female.

Let's face it, the men aren't usually panicking about short notice wedding plans or any of the other logistics that occur once the visa is in hand.

I know as the UKC I was more than happy to be "in control" of the paperwork and would have been tearing my hair out had I been relying on Dave to chase things up and send things off. As it was I was logging into his email account daily to make sure he hadn't got an email and forgotten to tell me!

When I started the visa journey, I went in knowing that my fate and timeline was in the hands of the authorities, nothing I did was going to change that. I sent a few emails when waiting for my interview date (mainly as I was sleeping on a friends sofa and longed for a bed!), but had confidence that I was in the system and would be called up in due course. We were lucky, it was a fast process and very stress free.

Just my observation :)

I disagree. I'm glad I have a short plan time. Excuses to tell my mother "no". Right now it's all on my SO so I think he is more stressed right now. He caught my diseases of not wanting to plan anything any more. Remember when I wanted to cancel the reception babe.

Hey all. Heard my name was mentioned on the threads so I came a looking. Thanks for the shout out. Really disappointed in the conversation here. The big thing here is we are hear to support one another in the process. I have to say it's disappointing when Rubycon post something he is incredibly worried and upset about and everyone is too busy zipping off the "last word" post to acknowledge him. Not one person sent out the VJ love to him.

Rubycon I pass to you the VJ spirit stick. It helped the last person I gave it to maybe it will bring you the love as well.

*pass the beautiful and shiney VJ spirit stick*

Still wait for our packet four. But right now I'm packing and focusing on that.

Love you guys

Peace

Well, I don't believe in God so does that mean the only option for me is to pray to the State Department when we want rain? :girlwerewolf2xn::P

I'm sure they'd be happy to do some cloud seeding for you...

Right, now its my turn to grumble. I'll be screwed if the interview takes longer than usual to schedule as my employment contract expires at the end of August, and with it my place to live...

Ahhh - good luck to you on that interview. Have you tried calling DOS to see if it has already been scheduled by any chance?

I DID try to point you guys out in my posts, but I apologize for not responding directly to Rubycon.

Thats great, just be careful where you put the shiney VJ love stick as I'm still limping from the last time...

Thanks, yeah I called the DOS line - the woman I spoke to was nice and helpful, but no news. She just said that the Embassy had received Packet 3. Well, at least Royal Mail didn't screw up :)

Many people have said you are causing panic, SEASONED members (who have been thru it) yet you persist in calling attention to yourself. And complaining about the lack of service.

The DOS did not tell you to re-send it yet you did (Tracy already covered this). Hope for your sake it doesn't 'confuse' them...maybe there is something to be said about pestering the embassy & how it could cause your case to be slowed down?

Disco sent her P3 back 5/03 yet she doesn't post about it.

Uzume posted her P3 5/29 & has no interview yet.

linzzee posted hers back 5/14 & no interview yet.

See the pattern yet?

Rebeccajo was trying to help you as were others yet you persist in playing the martyr.

Yawn.

Geez, d, you're not only way late to the party but so comically wrong I hardly know where to start (I could start with your misreading of Disco's timeline and Uzume's post about trying to contact the Embassy but why get into details . . .)

But I hope that you feel vindicated having contributed to this thread. I've really seen the error of my ways now. Thank you so much for clearing things up for me. I'm sure I have, in fact, angered the Visa Gods who have reached from the heavens to place their thumbs of slowness on our application papers.

I feel so wrong, so dirty for my prior feelings on this process.

If you'll excuse me, I must return myself to my wooden cross now.

OK - so this may be a silly question, but here goes anyway. Does scheduling your medical early seem to have any effect on when your interview is scheduled? I know there are some people that wait until close to interview date to do the medical and others (like us) that schedule the medical as soon as they get the LND file #. Just curious if you guys that have been around a while have noticed any real difference there. I did a search, but there wasn't really anything I could find on this other than people asking about the delays involved with having the medical only a day or so before the interview.

I used their own VJ K1 timelines as reference. If they are incorrect, not my fault.

Surely your visa entitlement issues will cloud any rational (non-dirty) thoughts you may have.

You should also think before you accuse me of being late to the thread. I have a life outside of VJ & it's more important than VJ. I read VJ when I can.

I will not comment anymore on your hysteria.

I don't think things are any different. Most schedule their medical when they get P3 so they can return it with the 'Do you have a medical date?' checked.
