Still no news of packet 3 having been entered into the system as received. Has been a week and a day since it was returned. We're hardly behind schedule, but hell, no one can blame me for being anxious to see that end-of-the-tunnel light, right?

Anyway - Tim had his medical today. I've instructed him to compose a full review to share with everyone here. Bottom line: nothing to worry about. He got there early but was taken late, a bit frustrating, but not a huge deal. The reviewing doctor or whomever seemed pleased that he was in good shape, nothing to report that needed further examination. He even has a bit of a cold - but that's hardly an out-of-the-ordinary medical concern. He said that even though he was a bit frustrated at the delay in being seen, he didn't put up much of a fuss because the form (the one he carries? one that's there?) asks about the applicant's apparent state of mind. He wanted to be chipper and not a cause for concern, of course.

Neither of us was very worried about this portion of the process. He has a bruise on his arm from the needle ####### for when they took a blood sample, but other than that (and the quick, but never fun, trou' drop - which didn't seem like much of anything other than a visual verification that he's a boy!), done and dusted with no big fuss.

So now it's back to doing what I've been doing: waiting to hear about packet 4. And the interview date. I have wedding deposits I want to put down - let's move, people!

One step down...how many more to go??? Did Tim make coppies of packet 3? Maybe send it off again just for the heck of it- ...i donno maybe it'd cause more problems- just an idea~ I think that's what I'd do.

Fret ye not (yeah right!) -- this is normal. We sent our P3 out Special Delivery 9am on April 26th, but according to the DoS lady I spoke to when I was deperate for an interview date said it was not entered into the system until May 7th. It sucks, but you are well within the usual slow-pokery of the Embassy.

If it helps, we got our date about a week and a half after the Embassy started to sniff around P3.

I too had the 'medical' yesterday and have to say that for £200 I was very disappionted. I think this is more about checking that you are not a drug user or a carrier of STD's and TB than it is anything else. My packet 3 was also sent off about the same time as yours and although I expect some sort of delay, I cannot help but get somewhat apprehensive as to what is happening. Added to this apprehension is the knowledge that our NOA2 authorisation expires on the 4th Aug and I have seen interview dates for the 11th July already.......... I also have heard that the Embassy is closed for the month of August so they are trying to ensure they clear as much as they can in July. I hope it comes soon as the wait is even more painful now we are so close.

Well glad that the medicals went well for you guys. Hopefully you'll get Packet 4 soon. The wait is just brutal isn't it? Jump one hurdle then there are 5 more.

Ive just phoned the embassy for an update, they confirmed they have my packet 3 stuff but no interview has been scheduled yet. I got them to confirm that the Embassy is still interviewing through August, so we can all ignore that snipit of misinformation.

I know all the waiting is a real stresser and to be expected. If you are really worried, try calling the DoS on 001 202 663 1225 and have your file number ready (starts LND2007). It is also possible to extend the life of your NOA2 -- not my area of expertise but a little digging around will tell you how to do it.

Your P4 will be coming to you soon. Ours took 23 days to arrive after we sent out the P3. Hang in there -- good news coming soon, I promise!

Edited to remove bit about Embassy being closed as you found out they won't be, and to say don't bother calling the Extortion Line at £1.20/min for info again -- use the muuuuuuch cheaper DoS line above.

Thanks for the reassurance and for the DoS number. Common sense tells us to not worry, but like many others on here it means so much to us all you just can't help it lol.

Haha - thanks for the support! I'm not worried per se - just anxious, of course :) The bell lap is always the hardest, right?

I called again this morning (I like my rituals. It's like a cup-a-joe) and settled with the phone in the crook of my neck ready to wait on hold for the usual 10 minutes while going through email and instead, an operator picked it up in 32 seconds. Literally! I looked at the counter on the phone because I was dumbstruck. The operator laughed when I said I was shocked she picked up so fast. No news anyway, but not much effort making the call at all!

So another day goes by. Who's the most recent P4 recipient and when did they a) mail back packet 3 and b ) when's the interview date?

(edit: changing the b ) - i hate when it makes an unintentional smiley!)

I had my medical today - Thursday. Very straightforward though I suddenly got nervous when I got there. Guy was really nice as were the staff generally. Reassuring to have my gender confirmed and it appears from the hammers on my kneecaps that I am indeed alive.

I also sent my P3 back on 29th May so it is fingers crossed time (especially with my wedding dates!)

I'm waiting for P4 too -- I was hoping it'd come this week, but that's not looking too likely.

It's really hard to be patient!

EDIT: I just went ot www.timeanddate.com and added 22 days to the date we sent in Packet 3, and it looks like June 15 is a more reasonable date.
