Calling NVC - Is there a way to know your call went through?

Anyone who has called the NVC knows you won't get through very quickly. I've read that it's easier to get through first thing in the morning.

I've been calling repeatedly and have to listen to the entire pre-recorded message before hearing "all of our customer service representatives are busy at this time, please try back later".

Is there something different you hear when your call has actually gone through? That way I can just hang up if I know I'm about to get the "please try back later"

Edit: Solved - not sure how to delete this forum but in case anyone is wondering, you do in fact get a different intro message so just hang up and keep trying back!

My trick is if I don't hear a ring at the start. Hang up. If I'm concerned I press 1. If nothing happens hang up. Takes about 10-20 times of rapid calling to get through

What an intricately designed system to stop people from calling lol

Sometimes phone systems can only handle so many in a queue. Has been 2 hours the last 3 times I did call. It was only the first time I waited under an hour. That when I called immediately in the morning, but I too didn't understand that if it didn't ring it was the false greeting.

If only NVC sent out emails on receipt, on case number assignment, etc instantly I am sure the call volume would dramatically decrease, but they can't just employ many many people so satisfy the demand

if you dont hear the ring right away, just end the call and call right back. if you did fill out a G-1145 form petitioner & Beneficiary will receive case number via email.

I got my case number already but that's what I am letting others know. No Ring, Hang up. And the emails don't come in instantly.

Do you know what date your case was sent to the department of state?

September 4th (idk the answer to the follow up question. I was a big pain in the butt during the USCIS phase)

I went through the USCIS to NVC stage a few months ago, and I found that it doesn't help to call NVC.  They will send you an email with the NVC case number in 2-3 months from petition approval.  Calling all the time just makes you anxious, worried, and more frustrated.  Save your energy and try to focus on preparing your documents needed once you get the NVC case number, after that things move more quickly.  Good luck!
