I agree there is no need to do that, but don't agree there's any harm in it.  I would advise against it, because it is not needed, not because it would be harmful on any moral grounds.

 

In an interview, if asked how the couple met, there's absolutely no problem telling the truth.

Affidavits are pretty much worthless. I would advise going with evidence of you living together and other evidence of your time spent together as others have stated
