Don’t worry I know someone  who had his  interview on July 2018 and he is still waiting although his wife is a citizen.

I know three other people who had their interviews on October 2018 and they are still waiting so don’t worry at all.  Good luck to all us

Thanks for sharing, it helps a lot.

My fiancé has been under AP for almost 7 months now, he lives in Hamburg, Germany. Was practically raised in Europe. His only fault is he is an Afghan National and that is why AP is taking forever, which I think is totally unfair and BS.

Also, I am an American citizen born and raised here.

Same with my husband. Pakistan national but lived in Spain. Actually think they scrutinize more because of that. From start to visa was almost 3 years to get visa. Were you at his first interview? The embassy wouldn't let me attend. Which sucked because they requested me for the second interview. Good luck and have patience. My husband was in AP for 18 months.

I did not attend the first interview with him which was in March of this year. I was actually pregnant at that time and wasn’t able to travel.

That is insane! 18 months is a very long time, and for what!! I mean you would think they would be able to investigate someone within a few months with all this technology but noooo they rather have people suffer and take their time with it.

Its been 7 months for us now. And patience is all I can rely on right about now. It drives me crazy some days but what is that gonna do... Absolutely Nothing!

Is your husband here now?

He got his visa in August and had to tie up his business in Spain so he will be here next Thursday! Yes, he had his interview in Madrid. Like I said, I was there but they wouldn't let me go in with him! 😤

That is awesome! Really glad to hear that! It was a long wait but at least the outcome of it was positive and you’ll be re-United with your husband soon Insha Allah.

Hello everyone,

My husband had his visa interview last October (2018). The officer gave him a yellow card marked with missing documents that later on were submitted to them by us. It has been almost one year now, upon checking his visa status on CEAC website it says administritive processing and the last date updated is September 15. The case only gets an update whenever we send them an email asking about the case process.I am very concerned now I feel like it is only us whose case has gone under AP for so long. My husband's passport was collected from him by the officer at the time of his interview and it is still at the embassy. We have a 2 and a half year old son who was born in the U.S and is a U.S citizen, and even that didn't help. I got to the U.S on November 2015 and I am still on a green card. The embassy handling my husband's case is the U.S embassy in Kabul Afghanistan. Also not to forget reading the forums here on visa journey I got to know that I could get help from my state's/city's senator regarding the issue and I did that the senator I contacted is Kamla Harris and she works for my area her office was helpful but the only thing I got from them was an official letter stating that I have to wait and this wait can not be expedited or waived. If you guys have any suggestions or similar stories please, please share it with us.

Thanks in advance :)

There are many of us that have been fighting too. My husband and I submitted his 601 after his interview in February of 2018. They received it March 2018, and we received a RFE March 2019. Now we've been in AP, but still no approval. It's not just you and your hubby. My husband in from the UK.

Not to rub it in for anybody but I just wanted to let you guys know that the Kabul Embassy is issuing K-1 visa. My fiancé was issued the visa about 1.5 months after the interview. I guess I just got lucky or something but all in all I am extremely thankful bc I know people have waited years to get a visa and my fiancé got it in about 10 months. Alhamdulillah

No, he's a UK citizen. He's an old punk rock guy with crimes from 40 years ago. (petty theft and a fist fight with another guy)
