Can my spouse apply for citizenship in 3 years if we dont live together?

As noted, it could go either way depending on the evidence available and the IO's assessment of it.

Safer option is to wait the 5 years and not have to worry about it. But applying now is fine so long as you are not concerned about the cost or time...it won't be held against you if you end up being denied and have to apply again under the 5 year rule.

Yes we will try applying after 3 years with crossed fingers. Geowrian could you try sending me a private message, I had a few other questions and could use your input but was unsuccessful in sending you a message myself.
