Noa 1 was recieved  October 11th 2019. Still waiting 139 and counting

I read some of your other posts. My heart goes out to you. The wait may mean the background checks on her side are complicated or bringing up red flags meaning they take a closer look into her. They are also looking to protect the us citizen from being taken advantage of so it might be a good thing they are taking their time. If they deny then you know your previous suspicions were correct. If they approve you can feel better. Best of luck to you.

My heart goes out to you!  That was also my NOA1 date and I was approved yesterday.  Keep strong and use a distractor to stay busy until it arrives!:jest::energy:

May I share this with you from USCIS.

USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely manner while also ensuring public safety and national security. A small percentage of applications and petitions have unresolved background check issues that temporarily delay adjudication. Although USCIS makes every effort to resolve such cases promptly, USCIS is unable to speculate when the background check will be completed.

If a background check reveals an issue that may impact an applicant’s eligibility for the requested immigration benefit, further inquiry is needed. The inquiry may include an additional interview and/or contact with another agency for updates or more comprehensive information. Upon gathering and assessing all available information, USCIS will adjudicate the application as quickly as possible.

USCIS realizes that the constituent may be frustrated by the progress of their case. However, the agency must balance individual inconvenience against broader issues of public safety and national security.

Public Charge form DS-5540

It has been reported that a CR-1 visa applicant at their interview yesterday was requested the new DS-5540 form. As the applicant did not have one, he was put on AP and requested by way of a 221(g) to complete one and return it to the embassy. Once received the entire case will be adjudicated to an outcome.

Since I can't say if this is true for K-1's, as I heard, they were exempt if they had filed before Feb 24th. Since this is so new and so many speculations are whirling, we will hear different stories until the dust settles.

This is all I know. I'm not going to be able to answer any questions because we and I don't know what the requirements are and how each embassy is going to handle this. I recommend that you get a copy of the form and have it filled out for the interview to circumvent any delay.

Hi @Greenbaum I have a question about this, I just wanted to make sure that I read this post correctly. Are you saying that the DS - 5540 form doesn't apply to those who applied before Feb 24th? However, to be on the safe side we should fill out the form and take it with us to the interview? Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi All, I have a question to anyone that can help me. Should I be worried that I haven't received any notifications from USCIS about our case being approved and my account hasn't been updated either. The only place that has our approval notice is https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do I called today and the person said that our case was approved but she basically just looked the same place I looked. So... I don't know man. I guess I will just wait for the notice since I should be getting it soon.

Some K-1's had their interview this week and were never asked. Is it safe, well that kind of saying that in this large lake their is an alligator but most people swim here anyways. Make one out and put in your back pocket. If asked your ready if not well just 15 minutes saved you 3 weeks of wait time.

So if USICS said it was approved, it was approved. Relax. It's going just as planned for you and for thousands of others. Just saying.

I can't even imagine! Being separated from my wife and son for 200 days was hard enough, 100 more I would have been in the asylum!
