Oh, wow. That's crazy. Yeah, there's definitely not anything that would indicate we're married or anything to hide about the situation, so it's surprising to me to hear that it's a good idea to be vague...

Stop, how could that be a problem?! Omgosh. That's what people do is have a little celebration....

Just a bit of caution with the use of the engagement photos and the visa process. Though it may not be true for your embassy but those in other countries have faced a higher amount of scrutiny when "engagement photos" are used for evidence of a continued relationship. Some applicants have used them in front of the CO and the CO interrupts the pictures of the engagement as a "wedding" and without notice DECLINES the visa application. This is typically a problem for those in India who dress in customary traditional clothing that is worn at a wedding. I'm not up on Vietnam and their customs but I just want to make you aware of it. I would hold the pictures close to the vest and only offer if they are asked by the CO. Just my experience and the experience of many others on VJ. Safe travels.

I only included one that was us dressed for a hike on a beach, I'm just showing my hand towards the camera with a classic engagement ring on it. Hope that's safe with the Naples consulate. 😄😅

My now wife showed  her hand like that with her engagement ring on, we took the photo and submitted it as one of our pictures with no problems.

Let's take a deep breath. If you both are a good citizens and have not had problems with the law and you meet all the other requirements then you have nothing to be worry about. I don't know your local laws about your husband hanging out with your son but I hung out with my step-son many times without problems. Sometimes it's best to just stay in one thread and ignore all the static that some others can create.

You have no reason not to keep moving forward. You'll look back on this and wonder why you ever worried this much. Smile

Well, someone was saying that any activity that could be seen as reasonably displacing a US worker could be a violation. So if he is watching my son while I’m at work, that could be considered childcare.

Hey everyone,

I haven't really spoke much on here , just behind the scenes checking in on things. my NOA1 date is 10/14 and so I believe a NOA2 is right around the corner *cross fingers* . I know that they'll probably send me a letter through the mail but I wanted to know if there was a way to be digitally notified of the NOA2 ? Like an email or an app or something like that?

thanks 😀

Go to the play store or the App Store if iPhone ... and search for uscis case tracker ... and input your receipt number

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks
