there are always those who set their expectations higher then need be. So when something doesen't happen on THEIR timetable they are disappointed or angry.

I’m expecting it to be 5 months. It’s just the anxiety of waiting lol

In my very very humble opinion, it would be weird if we didn't get impatient at times. We are all human, we care, and we all like to feel we have control over our lives. It's about what we do with that frustration. Talking about it does help to a certain degree, and sure, sometimes you need others to kick you out of the frustration spiral that you put yourself in. But at some point you have to start finding ways to deal with the frustration by yourself internally, or you will constantly be suffering and waiting for others to rescue you.

What we don't need to do is worry. They will not loose or skip or ignore our petitions. It will just take time. The people at USCIS, NVC and embassies are just people, subject to the same things that influence us (holidays, bad days, sickness etc.). They are doing their best in the framework they are given. And from what little I have seen by reading this forum, they know their jobs very well.

Ok, end of rant, sorry for that, I tend to get a bit philosophical at times.

@E&W

Preach it!😊

Keeping yourself busy with work is great. I got a lot of idle time in mine, so I have to be a bit more creative, lol. I like to research, organize, prepare stuff. Even if it doesn't pan out how I wanted, just the act of having the knowledge helps. Hell, we plan to buy a house at some point, I go to web pages and look at houses available. I know they will be all sold when we get to it, but it gives me a topic to focus on, discuss with my partner, see what we both like, want etc. It focuses us on a positive future together.

Absolutely normal to be impatient as we are anticipating a very unique life changing event. I think it’s just important to remember that honestly we don’t have control over this process or how long it takes. Staying busy is definitely imperative for your sanity haha!

Haha, yeah, we are all saying the same things, just have different ways of coping. There is no one size fits all, just find healthy ways to deal with it that suit you.
