Normally that is not the issue. More times and not it's because a box wasn't checked or a document (even if it was with the original package) is required/missing. N/A's is not the issue.

What do you think is the probably issue there why some got RFE?

I will be watching for your follow up RFE post.  I can't believe they RFE'd you for leaving blank spaces if the question didn't apply to you.  I seen an example of a properly filled out I-129F here and it did not have any n/a's on the form.

Maybe @Greenbaum or @sarge can comment about the n/a's.

@Milmauka Thank you for your interest, Milmauka!

RL filled out the form exactly like the example. We're unsure of the exact reason for the RFE, but we're expecting to see it in the mail soon, and I will post it here once that happens. 😊

Hmm, do you know for sure that that is the reason of the RFE? I only used N/A in a spot or 2. Some of the questions are clear. For instance, the moment you answer no to a question, they're not going to look for n/, n/a, n/a below if that makes sense. But I could be wrong. That woud be MY logic. 😄

@EllaC We're unsure, but RL took a look at our identical packet last night and he thinks that might be the reason. We didn't use N/A in blank spots at all, so most of the forms were left blank. I can understand how an adjudicator would deem it as an incomplete form. I'll be sure to post the RFE with sensitive details blocked off once it's been received. 😊

May I know the content table of your fiance visa packet?

@Gummybear Here are the list of contents as written on our cover letter:

image.png.c7e4e0175eb7a4b81cc86ec4cc0c4e51.png

Letters of Intent were signed with wet signatures.

We both took our passport photos at a shop about 10 minutes from him in the US.

We submitted flight itineraries and hotel bookings for flights that we've taken to visit each other, as well as a handful of trips we've taken together to Asia, all with corresponding photos from said trips with location and dates written on the back in black ink.

RL and I will take a closer look at our identical packet tonight to determine the reasons for our RFE before we receive it, as I had gone through the RFE Master List from a VJ member last night. Just a small bump on the road towards forever. 😊

See my answer below.

This is what happens when someone speculates on what the issue is without the knowledge gleaned from the RFE. There are hundreds of reasons why one would get and RFE and N/A's usually are not the reason as they are not required. Of course, you can always have a long USCIS agent who requests that you complete with N/A's but I have never seen it.

Here on VJ, they have created a spreadsheet where couples have added their RFE information and it makes for a good primer while you are waiting for your RFE.

Here is the link to the RFE thread:

http://www.visajourn...fe-master-list/

Here is the link to the actual document in google docs:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QZLEE9OecLgkFXzE_ChRWqPGW4breSStBXafL2zbGhA/edit#gid=2061710905

Here is what happens on your end. The original is the copy you receive in the mail. Read it carefully and answer what they are asking for. You don't have to do anymore then what is outlined within the RFE. Sign the RFE and make copies of everything you'll put in the return envelope. These copies will remain yours. Seal the envelope and return to the address that is specified in the RFE. Be sure to send it back so that you can trace it. Be sure your response is returned in the allotted time contained within the RFE.

@Greenbaum Thanks for the helpful resources, Greenbaum!

I took a dive into the forums and read through all the replies under the RFE 2019 thread last night. You emphasized a lot on just providing what the RFE requests as to not fall into a black hole, and I'm taking that advice to heart. 😄

RL & I appreciate all the support and advice, and we wish for a prompt reply for everybody! ❤️

Oops, I told them we met online dating.  I think I even gave them the name of the site, haha.  I don't think that would be a problem.  As long as you can back up the on-going relationship.  Good luck!

Received notice for RFE just now.

Waiting for the letter to see what the next step is... I had a feeling as we left spaces blank instead of writing n/a.

Oh well, there's a first time for everything, right? 😊

Edit: Does anybody happen to know what the average processing time between RFE and NOA2 would be?

100% the RFE is not for leaving a blank space instead of writing N/A.  If you met on dating website did you provide the Terms of Service? There are really too many things that could cause the RFE. Guessing would be pointless at this time. The good news is your case is NOT lost in a black hole at the CSC. Your case is actively being worked and did not fall behind a cabinet somewhere. The processing time between RFE and NOA 2 a lot depends on YOU. How fast you respond the the information they request. I would suggest #1 making a copy of what ever letter they send you with the RFE. Send it with tracking so you will have piece of mind to know they got your RFE. Once they get your RFE depending upon the case worker and the issue you should get an approval in approximately 4 weeks. Update your timeline once you send it back Good luck

Thank you for your input.

We are not feeling discouraged at all. 😊

R is attentive to details and he is an inquisitive person. We just want to be prepared as best as we can for what happens next. Per my post this morning, this is just a small bump on the road towards forever. Looking forward to the next steps.

Me and my fiance met in a mobile game. I wonder if we’ll get an rfe for that 🥺 we didn’t include anything about the game.

Well if you get an RFE for meeting on an app, you just print out the terms of service for that particular app to prove that it's not a marriage broker and problem solved. People from here have done just that, it worked, search the forum. It's not a big deal.
