Booked the embassy interview several days ago for 2/7/2020. Apparently, you can get locked out of the system if you keep logging in and out of the ustraveldocs website (just a heads up for some).

Now, we’re just in the process of gathering the necessary documents. Planning to get the cosponsor’s I-134 documents closer to the interview, as a lawyer advised me to get them no later than a month before the interview.

Getting there slowly!

Does the petitioner make more then the poverty level? If so a co-sponsor is not needed. Just my experience.  Also, lawyers can be troublesome at times so be sure you are researching and reading here on VJ as much as you can so that you are knowledgeable and can recognize something that is not right that your lawyer is telling you. Good luck on your journey.

Starting 1/2019 Indonesia requires the Tax Transcript and not the 1040.  So start now in getting that document. You may be able to download it from the IRS website or they will mail it to you. Mail takes 2-3 weeks so start now before it's too late. Also, there is information from others from you region in the link below.

I am the petitioner. Although I make above the poverty line, my job is based in South Korea, so my current income will probably mean nothing to them (hence, the cosponsor). I plan on going back to the US after the interview and secure a job before my fiance arrives.

Based on several interview reviews for the Seoul embassy, it seems that as long as I present a cosponsor, there shouldn’t be an issue.

The choice of using a co-sponsor is yours and the embassy can choose not to except. So I would recommend that you gather a employment letter along with any tax information plus you current pay-stubs plus the Korean equivalent to a US W-2's. Good luck.

Here is the requirement for the interview:

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: You must submit any evidence which will show that you and members of your family who will accompany you are not likely to become public charges while in the United States. Visa petitioner (US Citizen) will have to complete form 1-134. If the petitioner does not qualify as a sponsor, a Joint-Sponsor should ALSO be presented (any US Citizen living in the US or Legal Permanent Resident), who will also have to complete form 1-134. Both, the Sponsor (Petitioner) as well as the Joint-Sponsor, will have to present last year's income tax return transcripts. W2 form and proof of current and sustainable income (e.g letter of employment on letterhead including salary and start date, most recent salary receipts, bank accounts, value of properties, etc.). You may download the 1-134 affidavit at: https://www.uscis.gov/i-134 Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p

I started my current job recently (11/27), but I do have the job offer letter and employment contract both in Korean (which I can translate) that states my annual salary. I’d be able to get my first full salary paystub on January 25th (Koreans get paid once a month), so I can produce a paystub for one full month.

Also, I have three years of tax return transcripts (2016-2018) all with income over the poverty line (albeit they are all foreign earned income).

According to Korea’s P3 instructions, they do accept cosponsors, so I will include my cosponsor’s documents as well.

I have the exact same error! So I'm trying incognito mode but...site seems really slow today. I think I'll try once again in a bit.

Millions of people have gotten that error. Did you a Google search for the answer? Did you search here in VJ for an answer? The site can be problamatic. Your embassy can't help you. See some of the suggestions below. I love google.

See if this helps:  https://ceac.state.gov/GENNIV/Help/Content/Recovering an Application after Session Time Out.htm and/or what's below:

  • Use Chrome as your browser. Many have reported no problems when using Chrome
  • Use your browser's private or incognito mode.
  • Disable browser plugins.
  • Use only 1 tab when filling out the form.  Do NOT have the form open on multiple tabs.
  • Press "SAVE" every time you finish a page of the form.
  • If the session times out again:
  • Clear browser cookies and cache.
  • Close the browser (not just the tab), wait a minute, re-open browser.
  • Retrieve application and continue filling out the form.
