Everyone goes through AP and I concur with @geowrian.

I understand everyone goes into AP but they did not take his passport. They just kept our original marriage license and his original birth certificate

I learned today just hearing about ur journey. I don't know how my case is going to turn out to be cuz I'm not living in my old address any more I live in a new place now

@EhizIt may be a good idea to update your address with the NVC

Please provide your new address by calling NVC’s Customer Assistance Center at 1-603-334-0700. You can also use our online inquiry form to send us your new address. Don’t forget to let NVC know if your phone number or e-mail address change, too.”

My husband had his interview yesterday in Ghana. The CO asked the normal questions. Then she left and came back with the white slip that simply had administrative processing selected at the bottom. She did not ask for any other documents but she keep our original marriage license and his original birth certificate. I called my Texas State Senator and was told there was nothing that can be done except wait. Please advise

All you have to wait, its wait game but you never know everyone has different case. Good luck.

If they kept the things u say n didn’t keep his passport then there’s smthn they not sure of Or convinced abt n want to  run all the background checks they can ,if n when they are satisfied your husband will be called with further instructions either to present something or send his passport to dhl for his visa until then he will continue to be in AP and no one knows exactly how long this is gonna take, could me months or years.. prayers going out to u guys , hopefully they won’t take long

Not true. Not everyone goes through it and not everyone gets the white slip. I was approved on my interview day and I got my visa status changed to approved the next day. Got my passport back in two days.

AP covers everything from the interview until the visa is issued. It always go through some form of AP, although it can be very, very short. The OP's case is not so lucky.

And yes, not everybody gets a 221(g) slip.

As for me, we did not get the white slip at all. Just given back the passport with no paper and told expect a call shortly adter being told everything looks good. After emailing to inquire they said they will call us very soon and info is required. No call. Still emailing. Very frustrating as no one knows. Yes each case if different. No two are ever alike.
