Hello everyone. I made a mistake on my husband Ds260( did you have any previous spouse ) I made a mistake a check no, I realized that after the ds260 was submit already, i called nvc and they told me that there is no way to re open it only the officer at the Interview can do it , but they said I can still upload death certificate for  his previous wife which I did . Today my husband 's brother told him that the officer gonna denied him a visa because it seems like a fraud, I am freaking out right now , please help. His interview is on October 3. Thanks in advance for any input

It sounds like the only thing he can do is offer the CO the correct information at the time of the interview.  I would suggest your husband offer the correction at the very beginning of the interview instead of waiting to see it the CO asks about it.

Good Luck!

Take the death certificate to the interview and explain the error.....when does correcting an error equal immigration fraud or misrepresentation?   Stop listening to your husband's brother regarding immigration......

Thanks you so much

Previous spouse was listed on the original petition yes?  Error is not counted as fraud, this can be corrected at the interview.

Good Lord, your brother in law has no idea what he's talking about. I suggest you tune out people who know nothing about immigration.

Making an error is NOT fraud, lying is. You did not lie, you made a mistake. Upload it like they told you to and like others said above, have your husband bring the death certificate to the interview. Good luck and keep us updated.

They will most likely go through your case a day or two before the interview and re- open the form for you to make a correction.

I made a mistake and didn't even noticed and they called me, I wasn't near my phone and didn't answer so they sent me an email and asked me to correct the mistake, that's all.

Hello Cheridane,

How are you doing today? I just came across your post. I actually have the same situation. There is an error in my ds260 form.. I had earlier notified NVC about the error before my case was sent to the US Consulate and they responded and said that any errors on my ds260 form can be corrected during the visa interview. I also wrote to the US Consulate where I am attending my visa interview that's coming up next week and requested that my ds260 form be opened so that I can correct the mistake but there hasn't been any response yet. Hopefully, I can have the error corrected before my visa interview but if not, I will bring it to the notice of the C.O. at the start of the interview. How did your husband's visa interview go today? How was he able to correct the error in his ds260 form? I hope and pray that his visa interview went well and that he gets his visa to join you asap. Reply soon.
