Like in Islam, we get married in Mosque and they issueD us islamic marriage certificate. But we had a civil marriage as well obviously when we went to court and signed the marriage certificate. Short story, there is no as such thing as religious marriage in usa. You can marry according to your religion but civil certificate is the one that makes you a married person

I understand now .

Thank you so much @Shroy123

hello everyone,

I applied for Vawa last May 2019 I got my receipt notice, My EAD combo card expired in august 2019. I would like to renew my combo card since my i485 based on my old petition is still pending and I haven't got my interview yet, I am kinda of confused where to send my renewal form is it Vermont or Chicago.

thank you guys

As long as you've applied for VAWA, everything you send goes to Vermont USCIS!👍

Hello guys

i’ve a question

Can i file for marriage annulment ? Could this affect Vawa or  green card process ??

An annulment will render the marriage null and void!!! This disqualifies you for the i360 category as part of the requirements is marriage to a USC or LPR! And of course if there's no marriage..there's no adjusting status via that route- i360!💁

Annulment renders that marriage non-existent, the issue of good faith marriage does not arise.
VAWA eligibility requires good faith marriage, 'marriage' beimng the operative word here.
"Annulment" = no marriage ever existed.

No marriage = no eligibility to file for VAWA relief.

Annulment obliterates the criteria of a "qualifying" relationship required to be eligible for the petition-which in this case is 'marriage'! Good faith marriage is to show that you didn't marry your spouse for immigration benefits!😊👍
