Do you mean if infopass would help in expediting your case? The answer is no! You have to have proof like you've been told earlier..but if you're granted an infopass, you may use the opportunity to learn new things..it's part of the reason I'm attending mine in a few days!😊

I heard USCIS is not accepting infopass anymore. How did you schedule your appointment?

I'm not sure where or who you heard that from..but I was scheduled about a week and some days ago..while trying to address my issue about change of address..told them I had updated online but it's not updating..and all that..that was all it took..they scheduled me and also fixed the issue..💁

You have to call customer service and book an appointment at your nearest office

For those who got a letter, did the USCIS status change? Saying they sent this latter/correspondence?

My status did not change after I got medical letter. I never got anything about case being transferred.     I just checked my mail one day and interview letter was there.

Hello guys, finally submitted my vawa application. What’s next? Will my attorney receive a notice of receipt? Also, I want to start my divorce? How do I do it without a lawyer?

Great start! Next wait for NOA/Prima Facie! If your divorce is uncontested, then you may proceed on your own..otherwise retaining the services of an attorney would be a smart move! I intend to use an attorney even though mine is uncontested!

There are many ways to ask for an expedite. You can do it over the phone (not recommended for VAWA), you can do it through mail yourself (very slow) you can use your congressperson, or you can go to infopass. IMO the best way is to use the congressperson. If you do it at infopass you will have to go to the appt and bring your proof for expediting and they should take it and send it in for you. But any follow up will have to be at infopass. You may end up making multiple trips to the office.

Also people have had various experiences with an infopass worker assisting them with expedites. Sometimes they go above and beyond and will reach out to you as its processing. Other times they are reluctant to even take your paperwork and then when they do they just simply mail it in the service center and never follow up with it.  Your congressperson would follow up on it and most likely speak to you on the phone if needed.

Do you have any idea how long that takes before receiving it? I know this is process is long but still want to have an idea. Btw, I live in a different state from my husband, can I proceed without him? Does he have to sign?

Anywhere from 2-8weeks..although I received mine within 2weeks! If your husband wants the divorce as much as you...it makes things easy! All he has to do is sign...except he wants to start trouble and complicate things...but I've read countless times you can do it all by yourself...I haven't gone through it yet..so may not be able to elaborate on it.😊👍
