Gotcha. Does the local office wait start when the file reaches the local office? I have been waiting a year now since my VAWA was approved and I hope this doesn’t mean that I have to wait another 12/18 months now after it has just been sitting there for 12 months at the NBC.... 😞😫😭

One of the member here waited 18 months for VAWA approval and 18 Months more for interview after approval also NYC (Manhattan Center)

Personally my AOS marriage base took 18 months to be scheduled for an interview I file October 2017 and they schedule my interview for May 2019 when i went to the interview to show them my

I-360 receipt my VAWA was already a year old. IS INSANE....

Hey dear you should ask your congressman to enquire also about your i485 alongside the EAD! To move things along...some people did not have to wait that long...

Hi dear, this is about the I-485. Apparently it‘s been at NBC the entire time and not the local office. I am trying to understand what this means for me now. The congressperson said they contacted the local office too to request the file from NBC

Oh I see!!! Mine went fast to my local office..and I've heard word about it...anyway they probably are so backlogged that it's waiting for a free desk to be called in...that's why it's waiting at NBC!

NYC has such long wait times it‘s crazy. I just want to move on from this, dealing with it just reminds me of my ex all the time and I just want to start fresh.

I waited 16 months for VAWA approval. Now I have been waiting 12 months since approval with no sign from them at all. I don‘t know if I have to wait another 12/18 months now again because the file wasn‘t transferred to the NYC local office.

I don‘t know how this process works, if someone has experience with this, please share. Thanks.

Wow! I admire your courage! I really hope things improve out there..it's overpopulated! NYC should be a country of it's own!💁

I believe you won't have to wait long anymore once your file is designated to an officer..they set a date and call you in...relax my dear😘💞

My marriage based one was Manhattan. But I moved and the new one should be Queens Field Office. I don‘t know if they automatically transfer that too...

Vermont transfer to NBC, NBC prepares the entire file I-485 and I-360 make sure everything is ready for AOS interview base on VAWA. But Local offices need to have interview date available, my lawyer told me about this wait time in NYC local offices she is in and out there.

I thought they send the entire file to the local office and then it‘s waiting there for an available interview spot and not at NBC. But I guess I will just wait as long as I have to.

I asked the congressperson to confirm the address too for the I-485 and they‘ll do that next they said.

Field offices handle scheduled interviews on non-asylum related applications. They also provide limited information and applicant services.

* Application Support Centers provide fingerprinting and related services.

* Asylum Offices handle scheduled interviews for asylum-related issues only.

* Service Centers receive and process a large variety of applications and petitions.

* National Benefit Center receives and processes a large variety of applications and petitions.

* Local Offices:  handle scheduled interviews on other applications. They also provide limited information and services that supplement those we provide through our website and by phone.

*National Records Center receives and processes FOIA requests and applications for genealogy information.

I updated the address in writing AR11 but never got a confirmation. I was sure that after doing that I would be at the Queens office, but I don’t know anything anymore... The congressperson said they have been trying to confirm my address with USCIS but didn‘t get a response on that. All of this is so confusing. What else can I do to get my address confirmed?
