Today was my Green card interview and I want to share my experience:

1- I arrived to the USCIS office - Manhattan at 7:45 am my appointment was for 9:30 am.

2- They do not check you in until 30 minutes before you appointment, so I waited until 9:00 am to check in. I realized I did not need to arrive that early.

3- I waited approximately 2 hours. at 11:00 am an officer called my number from door #1.

4- The officer was polite but serious.

5- my attorney, my 9 years old daughter who is included in the case and I walked to his office.

6- The officer asked me for my passport and my daughter's passport and birth certificate, he also asked me for updated medical exams which I had, he then proceeded to asked me the fallowing questions:

- Have you been arrested? I told him "yes" explained it was because false accusations made by my abuser and gave him the certificate of disposition that says that the case was dismissed and sealed.

- Have you lie to the government to obtain immigration benefits?

- Are you a terrorist?

- Do you work? where?

The interview was 5 minutes, he told me my card will be put it in the mail within the next 2 weeks!!!

Dateline:

Vawa filed on 10.3.16

Vawa approved 4.18.18

Case transferred to local office 4.18.19

Interview notice received 9.12.19

Interview date 10.3.19

also did it really take a year after your VAWA approval to have your case transferred to another office? Or it's a typographical error?😏 and you said you went to Manhattan..is your local office Bronx, Brooklyn or Queens?😊
