Hi, is it ok to just renew an advance parole? Instead of filing a new one to avoid them rejecting it if I don’t attach a fee?

i have a pending I-485 and my VAWA is approved. @sandranjΒ

Β

your advice is appreciated!Β

If you received in the past theΒ advance parole then this time you must renew your AP and not to file a new one.

Thank youΒ Sandranj

I received an AP before (combo card) and is now expired from the marriage i485.

I just wasn’t sure if I need to file a new one or renew it as I have a different case (VAWA)

Β

Thanks again and may God bless you.

If you have pending the sameΒ AOS filed while living with your husband then you need just to renew the AP.

I always flyΒ all over the country even to work sometimesΒ and never had any issues either. IΒ only show my Driver's License. I bring my passport with me but never had to show.Β

I drove from Houston, TX to McAllen TX with a friend. On the way back I had no idea they had check points and I literally had to documents other than an expired ID card. The only thing I had was a pic of my EAC on my phone, officer was nice to check this with his supervisor and I had no problem. I panicked too.Β

I was only 22 years old, it’s always good idea to check if there are any check point wherever we travel.

Very happy to hear that you made it through so easily.Β  Remember that, in these times, the CBP/ICE agents are under a lot of stress and might be looking to "nail" somebody.Β  Therefore, it makes sense to carry some papers with you.

You were veryΒ smart (and fortunate) to have that photo on your phone!Β  As stated in the referenced thread, the agents can hold you for as long as it takes to determine your status.

There are indeed many checkpoints in south Texas -- yours sounds like Falfurrias or Raymondville.Β  As a hint to all, avoid the checkpoint south of Alpine, Texas, like the plague!Β  I speak from experience as a born USC.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I believe there's no point taking chances! We've been told severally to be cautious..again better safe than sorry! We can't be "lucky" all the time! Support your i.d's with relevant documents! James Hardley Chase said in one of his books..." A guy that thinks he's quite safe, doesn't know when he's wide open for a sucker punch"πŸ‘ŠπŸ’ok bye!

Amen, I am a weak person but the Grace keeps me alive. without me interfering he sent my kids for a month they just left and I learnt God is being their mother. They told me they have seen me beaten by their dad and crying. I was shocked but I had to send them back until I stand by my foot. I don't want them to suffer with me economically. I'm telling my story because I want my sisters in this thread to stay strong in prayer. I know God holds my hand all the time.

p.s. Thanks for all the support in this thread. Blessings
