So my congresswoman sent an inquiry to my Local Field Office about my pending I485 and this was the answer...

The applicant will be scheduled for an interview as soon as a date becomes available."

That's the standard response when your case is at the local office..I remember I got the same response when my file was transferred in June. But now they have given my senator a definite time frame. When where you approved again and when was your file transferred to the local office? You're in NYC right?

VAWA approved Aug 13 2019

Queens Field Office

Not sure when they transfered it, they only comfirmed that the case is at the field office.

I don't know if any of you remember about my case but after a year of having an approved VAWA my I-485 file was just sitting at NBC for no apparent reason, not even USCIS knows why. My congressperson helped to get the ball rolling again and the file is finally at the local office in NYC. They can't expedite it, even though it just sat there for the longest time. They also said that they'll schedule me "as soon as a date becomes available." I guess the long wait begins once more....

If your police report is stating a crime committed against you then the police report and shelter letter should be more than enough.USCIS maybe lost these documents or your attorney forgot to submit, but if your police report is just about harassment then the this report is not enough tho.

I also have Police report base on harassment, they issue me a order of protection base on this harassment, and also a criminal case move along with the harassment issue, but no criminal charge was put on, Criminal Order of protection was also issue for me.... Worry now this will be not be enough?? Any advice @sandranj

hello guys, i am a june 2017 filer so i am way over processing time. i have been reading and i think its time for me to reach out to congressman. i am in the atlanta area so after i did some research i was able to find this pdf form to fill out and send.....is this the rite way to do this? any help would be greatly appreciated.

do i need to reach out to senate or congressman? which is more effective?

the form i found is here:

https://www.isakson.senate.gov/public/_cache/files/c03f0053-1d74-4497-b4a7-f6c884855fa4/USCIS Privacy Release fillable.pdf

I contact both Senate and Congress office, My Senator office told me the Congress office have more influence with USCIS since they have congressional inquiries direct line and request. To first inquired with Congress office first.

Ok dear..did you see the wait times for queens? It's scary!😳

Yes , it just changed last week. but we can not trust this USCIS wait times. my ead took only 2.5 months for renewal when it says 3.5 to 5.5 months.

The deadline should be written in your RFE letter

Thats worrying because mine does not contain any deadline written on it. I have tried to read through it again and there is no deadline attached. I have attached a copy here.

The fact that a specified deadline is not given is the reason why am asking for a general time limit which people normally have to respond to RFE. If there was an error on mine then I would not want that to affect me. So as @Stillwinning!!!😊 suggested I would try to send the documents before 60days is over.
