So no update online about transfer right? But sure looks like it's been transferred already! Getting closer..praying for you too!πŸ™blessings!

No update.. but the mail came from NBC and it says to send it back to Missouri so I think it’s already at the National Benefits Center.

I hope nothing else.Β

Dear Community,

I just got a call from my lawyers assistant and she asked to keep it confidential.
She told me that she recommends me to fire a lawyer because she is not acting in clients best interest.
So, the question is should I fire her right now? Or not?
The thing is my I360 is submitted, and I think application is good overall.
Just some mistakes by lawyer with like names of people, etc, references to wrong attachments, etc, etc.
My lawyer is just not submitting for example my divorce decree because she has a different strategy she says, so I am going to submit it by my own.
She is trying to get RFEs so she charges me more you know...and I clearly see it and ask right question she does not like.
Be careful with lawyers.

It just shows how messy they are!Β
we were already scheduled for an interview before and would’ve not been able to get this far without a birth certificate. Only delays our process.

Β

did you hear back from them after you submitted your RFE?

Β

I'm sending mine today, you sent it to NBC right? Not Vermont?

Exactly! I was surprised to get the RFE.Β  Β The RFE letter says I should sendΒ reply to NBC but SandraΒ advised that I send to both NBC and VAWA (vermont center) to be on a safe side.

So, dear valued contributors to VAWA topic, please help me with the below question:

My lawyer made some mistakes in her statement and in I360 application which idk if I should correct or not by my letter to USCIS (I am anyway sending them a letter with additional documents like police clearances and divorce decree).
So, the mistakes she made in her statement are mostly wrong names like in one place wrong middle name of my abusive USC, some other grammar mistakes, wrong last name of a person who wrote a statement to support my case, wrong city of abuser USC job,Β  wrong references to attachments (like see attachment 3, but the right one is 5 for example),

Mistakes in I360 application:Β
-Β Marital status Divorced (on the date of filling out of application and signature date I was not yet divorced, is it okay?)
-Β (part 4B) Address is incorrect and not fully completed

-Β (part 10) USC Abuser Last name is mine (she never took my last name, so her last name was *****)
- and again couple wrong references to attachments;

So, please give me an advise if I should correct any of the above mistakes by my letter to them or leave it like this and see if the RFE.
When the officer will read through whole papaer work and my statement it is all clear. So they can see who is who but the I360 application starts with 3 pages from my lawyer about like who she is that she represents me etc etc and her statment about what I told her and this is where she has mistakes I discribedΒ above. All other statements like my own and therapist are clear and correct.
Thank you and have a good day people!
Happy Friday!

This is terrible. It will be very complicated, Uscis will still send everything to your attorneys office -even if you fire them...

if you do this keep in mind you must involve a congressman immediately to make sure they don’t send any letters to the lawyer.

Β

I firedΒ my attorney at the very beginning of the process and the prima facies were sent to him. It was hard for USCIS to make the update on my case.

Β

best of luck, keep us posted

Yes, it has been updated toΒ  Β  "We received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number XXXXXXXXX. USCIS has begun working on your case again."

Hey everyone! I am so happy I found this. First, congrats to all the ones who were approved and best of luck to the ones still waiting (me too!).

I Β my 360 (battered spouse)Β was filed in oct 2018 and was advised that everything was forwarded to Vermont including my original 485 around march this year. that was filed through my i-130.

I don't want to go through my painful experience but God is great and now I am away.

I just filed my EAD extension back in May 2019 through NBC (sighh :( as I learned from this blog its not a good idea)Β  and still waiting. I hope that all my papers are transferred there. Last time I chatted with USCISΒ that they could not provide any status and I need to contact Vermont.Β

Absolutely no updates and all my apps went in complete silence. I appreciate all the input or support I get :)Β You guys seem to have more experience than me with this.

It's always stressful when EAD is sent to NBC instead of Vermont. It's a waiting game. I waited from February to October and I have my EAD renewal now. I did not file my advance parole with it, I just file that to Vermont in September. I and Behold when I got my EAD this October Advance Parole was added. Faithful God. So be patient we will all get there.

I really do not like to offend people and talk about their lack of professionalism.
I know that many lawyers themselves do not understand, or turn it into a game.
I know that even the most not very smart lawyer will try to help .... BUT
Everyone should have their own mind and also think. We are all human beings and may be wrong.
My divorce lawyer asked me to refuse many times (she said that she would communicate with the boss about conducting / not seeing my case) Roughly speaking, she did not want to do this. Especially since I left the USA. Nevertheless, she did this thing, and no boss helped her. Although I can understand her, do business that does not bring her profit, but only her salary.
But I am grateful to her anyway.
Also, the divorce lawyer (paid) of my ex-husband, fortunately, tried to say that the paper without a signature is valid when we agreed in words! I said no! It is not valid that in any country of the world a document without a signature is not valid. And they agreed with me and decided to wait. Maybe I did it out of resentment and mischief, but I want to say that not all lawyers know all the laws.
