I got a request for evidence back in July  2018.. I sent the basics. my police record for everywhere I lived,  the shelters I stayed at gave me letters, my friends wrote letters, my husband birth certificate, my documents..  Stuff like that, I didn't have a therapist letter or anything.

Congrats on approval

Thank you very much for you answer. Sounds very inspiring!

I was worrying about drivers license as well.

Hope it will be smooth.

This is so frustrating. All the time you need think about renewal everything 🙈

I just received my EAD renewal today from Vermont. I’m so happy and excited. I filed it back in June by myself, 6 months before it was due to expire and I got it today. My current EAD doesn’t expire until Dec so I can go renew my driver’s license. God is good. Thank you to those who responded to my questions. I wish I didn’t pay my lawyer $750 just to send to national benefit center. These attorneys are messed up but it’s okay. Vermont is where you send your renewal.

They are taking about 5 months to process. I took at advantage of the 6 months early application. I didn’t want to take chances.

what was your NOA1 date?

June 20th. It seems about 1 month before yours. I pray you get it before thanksgiving. The timeline sounds like your approval might be btw nov 18th- early December to get your physical card. If you have your NOA letter then you’re good. You automatically get a 6 months extension. I just didn’t want to deal with DMV bs about renewing driver’s license.

Idk why but I California DMW issued me a DL for 5 years...I was really surprised, because I moved from Florida and in Florida they issued me one exactly till the date of EAD expiration. Was it a mistake in California or just different rules in different states?

Wow I think I’m getting CA license next. N.C. gives you 2yrs. I guess different states have different rules maybe.

Hello,

I received RFE for good moral character and good faith marriage.

The good faith marriage I was sort of expecting that because i never lived with my abuser in usa. I only visited him and since I didnt live in usa then we dont have shared things like mortgage, bank accounts, house lease, Bills or insurance together. And no joint tax since I work and live in europe. What I had was hundreds of phone calls and video calls  from watsapp. Which I already send. And pictures of our wedding in usa and 2 affidavits from family . I also send a copy of a gift he gave me.  It's hard to prove bonefide marriage if you dont live together.  I am just planning to add 2 or 3 affidavits from friends and family. And also send some of watsapp chats. I have send pictures. I  can add more pictures. I will also write another affidavit from myself expressing more in details absence of some of the things like lease or bank accounts etc.  Do you guys think this might be enough?. Am worried. Anyone in similar situation as me?.

About the moral character i had send a police clearence from my country. I wonder if they didnt see the  letter from police or what?. I had letters too from 2 people. I thought the police clearence showing no history of crime is enough. What more should I send?.shall I send the police clearance again. I have lived in same place for 10 years and the clearance was from that place. Any advice will be appreciated.

Also I am wondering does the affidavits have to be notarized?. Is it ok to send them not notarized?. The ones I already send were not notarized. The people who wrote them had attached copies of their identity cards. What do you think?. Anyone who has an idea?

Thankyou for reading. And I hope you can give me some advice.

My dear, I see you weren't asked to prove shared residence..that would have been more challenging since you lived apart! For the good faith marriage the things you mentioned is great. You could get more notarized affidavits from friends and family who knew of your relationship especially from the start to write about it. The strength of a well written affidavit can not be over-emphasised! Write a very detailed statement from courtship through when things got sour. Any more pictures, letters, interactions of any kind..can contribute to prove your case!  For the good moral character, police clearance from you home country would suffice. Also few affidavits from friends and family stating the kind of person you are and all of that good stuff..is awesome too! They should be notarized! I believe strongly you will make it!😊👍🙏

I read a question about a driver’s license. And I also thought about a driver’s license. My driver’s license was issued for a period of 1 year.
When I will be in the USA, am I rained to take theoretical and practical exams again?
Or will they update it?

I'ld worry about that when everything is settled. That should be the least of your worries for now..but yeah when you have all your documents right, you will be getting your DL renewed/reissued..or whatever!💁There's a cliche...'when we get to the bridge, we cross it!'😊

Congratulations this is so nice to hear!🌸🌸🌸

For me this EAD renewal is something very stressful. I sent it to the wrong service center and i hope it won’t take that long.
