How should we submit our personal statements?

Hi,

Me and my fiance are currently in the final steps of the documentation process for filing the K1-Visa. He (the petitioner) has everything printed out, from forms to evidence etc. We have both just finished writing up our personal statements, and have read mixed things online about how to include or send off the statements themselves. Considering he has the "packet" which he is going to send off, can we include both of our statements (signed respectively) in that packet? Or do we have to send them off via mail individually?

Thank you in advance.

I assume your statements of intent to marry are but a couple of sentences

YMMV

Wow, Didn't read the need for all that in the instructions

YMMV

There isn’t much mention about that in the instructions however I have seen now RFEs regarding not including something on that list which was posted above.

Best to play it safe it really is just luck of the draw but I have seen it enough on this forum now

that we have decided to include evidence with our intent to marry statements.

What item on the list did some get an RFE on?

YMMV

We each did a 1 paragraph letter with intent to marry. In those sentences we wrote when we met, when we started dating, and when we got engaged. We also wrote we plan on getting married in front of a judge and having a reception for friends and family.  Nothing more or less. It's good to include a plan, not need for all the particulars though.

Mine just said I am free to marry and intend to marry [name] within 90 days of my entry on a K1 visa. Done.

The instructions are a little more elaborative now---

Intention to Marry Within 90 Days of Entry. Submit evidence that you and your ancé(e) intend to marry within 90 days of your ancé(e)’s entry as a K-1 nonimmigrant. Evidence of your intention to marry may include statements of intent to marry signed by both you and your fiancé ancé(e) or any other evidence that establishes, by a preponderance of the evidence, your mutual intention;

We had no evidence. Heck, we didn't even tell friends or family for a couple of months after sending. They had no clue. No plans, no receipts, no ring. It didn't matter. Got approved with a one sentence statement.

I'm not Canadian, but I have observed that many folks crossing from Canada create their own inventory list of personal items for everything they are bringing into the US when they make the move.  There is also the issue of importing your vehicle, which I'm sure @Ontarkie or others can speak to.

I have seen many get an RFE for the statements of intent to marry lately. They are asking people to include more evidence to support the statement such as what was listed above by flfreddy.
