If I were present when one of the socialists talked about overtaxing the "rich" for any reason, I'd say, "Hey, Comrade -- name me one POOR man who has ever given another man a job."

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Well I am at home early too. My manager told me to take the rest of the afternoon off because things were slow so I walked home via the liquor store. So I may join you in a drink or two and maybe THEN I'll think what you have to say is funny.

Are you sure he just didn't want you fiddling with the thermostat anymore?

Well, Warren IS a capitalist. I know many people don't want to believe this, but she is. She wants markets to work for more than just the very richest people, the most powerful people. She has spoken about how before deregulation in the 80s, when protections put in place in the 30s were in full effect, more people shared in more of the wealth generated by the market. That's just not the case anymore. Look, I'm very comfortable. I'm a young woman still and I never have to work again if I don't have to. I'm lucky. My money works for me. But why should I benefit unduly from essentially winning the lottery? I'll just keep making money for doing nothing. How is that a market that works for everyone?

Tell me what part of "before deregulation" do you remember?  I grew up in that regulated period and remember much of it, and I can tell you people are doing much better now than back then.  Even the poor folks have life easier.  I have the same business my father had and I can afford a lot more than he did.  Looking at all groups of people there is no comparison of then and now.  When I was a kid a TV was a major purchase, and it was black and white.  Now folks have several huge TVs.  Same for cars, etc.  International travel was for the wealthy.

Life is so much better now for the majority of people.

I'm not up on your American history as much as I probably should be, so I'm not qualified to answer in detail. But to my understanding, it was a last ditch effort to fix a completely destroyed economy. So you're suggesting that a last ditch effort "new deal" be used to turn a fantastic economy into... what? No wonder the Democrats lose.

and if the Feds had not taken action in 2008, the Global economy would have melted down. We were days away.

BS. The Feds made it worse and dragged the recovery out longer than it would have been. The problems are still there but only festering and simmering and waiting for the right time and conditions to come back. They needed to let weak entities fail and the stronger entities to pick over their remains and take what was worth keeping and dump the rest in the trash.

How do you know it is neutral? Because they told you so? It was about to be a economy contraction and they don't want a contraction and especially a Socialist built one like Social security that is built on a ponzi scheme that requires an ever more amount of suckers to keep the money flowing.

2008 was plastering over the issues, kicked the ball down the road, so whatever happens, whenever it happens will be more interesting.

Thank you for the link, Nature Boy. I'd like to see it -- I really do try to have an open mind as well.

Then I suggest you read or watch other material from other sources if you really have an open mind. I would make suggestions but doubt you will read or watch them as it does require an effort and an open mind. This stuff can be googled though. I can suggest Ron Paul as one and look up the Federal Reserve, etc.

Exactly. We still have most of the same problems and just threw money at them repeatedly until stabilization occurred so that took years instead of months to achieve. GM is still around as one example of many that should not be around anymore.
