Hello! This is my first post here. My husband (he is from England) and I had our interview today in Milwaulkee WI, and it wasn't at all what I was expecting. We got there, and were taken back fairly fast. The whole thing probably lasted under 10 mins. Most of the experiences I read online got a positive or negative answer at the interview but we did not. He asked a few questions... mostly off the sheet, names...date of birth... ever arrested... are you a terrorist... that sort of thing. Asked my husband if he had met my childern/parents and to talk about them which he did, and asked me the same about my husband's parents. He asked for our "evidence" and we gave him a small stack of photos. We didn't have bank statements which we explained was because he could not be added without an SS#, I did have a printout of my paypal account with my husband on it. He asked about insurance and we explained he did not have a drivers license due to epilepsy so that is why he wasn't on my car insurance. He also read the little note my daughter's teacher had writing about us volunteering at the school together.

He took the little card out of my husbands passport but didn't keep anything else (no photos or papers or anything) and told us we would hear in the mail. I was shocked at how brief it had been, and was expecting lots more questions... he never even asked about our wedding, our daily lives, anything about us since the paperwork was filed, etc. I asked "do we have anything to worry about?" and he asked what I meant. I said "well we didn't have many photos and such" and he simply replied with "We take everything into consideration". At no time did he ever give any sort of positive or negative vibe.

I'm hoping that if there was a problem that he would have mentioned it, or at least if we were under-documented would have interviewed us a little longer to get a better idea about us... but I just don't know.

Anyone have anything similar where there was no "yes" or "no" given at the interview but things turned out good? or bad? Thanks!

Did he stamp your husband's passport? It's really hard to tell if you're approved or not. My suggestion is to wait a couple of weeks and see what happens. The officer would most likely have told you if you were still stuck in security checks. Usually when you're approved at the interview, it takes about 2 weeks or less to get the greencard. And as for the length of interview, it really depends on the officer. But most times, it's a short interview. Good luck.

Our interview was 10 minutes or so.

And he was not that bothered in looking at photo's etc.

I believe that is normal

My GC came a week later, my office does not stamp.

Shouldn't the fact that he took the I-94 mean they were approved?

At our interview (which was short and sweet) my wife and son I-94 were taken. We where not told that we passed the interview, but was told once our name check returned things would move at a faster pace.

I think a lengthy interview would mean more doubt on your case, thus most AO's reviews your case before you enter their offices and know what questions they are going to ask.

Also photos were just given a breeze look over.
