My fiance just passed her interview in Manila! yeah. can anyone tell me if the  Pre-departure Orientation Seminar is required ? thanks in advance

CFO-GCP is required for the K-1 (and IR/CR-1)

No.  You can do it at any time.

But if completed before the visa is issued, she/he will have to return to get the sticker

Or if leaving from NAIA,  can get it there

Only with PDOS do you need visa in hand to complete the seminar

 

With GCP the seminar can be completed any time.  (K-1 and IR/CR-1)

 

Reason people complete the GCP seminar early is because of limited appointment openings.    To wait until  you have visa in hand could delay your departure by a month, maybe more.   Going back to get the sticker may be a little inconvenient, but it beats having to wait to complete the seminar later
