DS-160 payment expiration date?

Greetings, all!

Next question!  Does the payment on the DS-160 have an expiration date?

As I've mentioned in previous questions, the K-1 process has been a long and winding road for me and my fiancee.  We previously attempted to complete the process last year, but stalled out after I experienced a financial disaster.  I had already paid the DS-160 fee (plus the one for her son, too, DS-260, maybe?).  That was September of 2018.

We're now being told that the DS_160 expires after a year and I'll have to pay all over again.  Is that right?  I don't mind having to fill out some forms again, but I would find it disappointing if someone kept the $580 I paid last year and I had to pay all over again.

What are the rules on that expiration?

Thanks!

Joel

Please check out my music video for "Bright Side of the World", the song I wrote for my fiancee. You can watch the video on YouTube here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKu3SvqCBfg

Individual DS 160s.  DS260 is another visa type.

"Your visa application fee is non-refundable and you cannot transfer it to another person. You will receive a receipt after paying the application fee. This receipt is valid for one year from the date of payment and allows you to schedule your interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate."

The visa fee is valid for 1 year.     The DS-160 does not expire.

Visa fee is $265 for the K-1          Medical has a 6 month shelf life in regards to the visa also.

Thank you both for the helpful responses!  Hank, thank you, also, for the reminder on the medical expiration.
