Hey all, I'm filling out the AOS (I-864EZ) right now, and I've gotten to the part about income.  I didn't make much money last year since I spent half the year in Mexico with my wife, so I'm submitting proof of income for this current year to show that I'm above the poverty line.  According to travel.state.gov's site, evidence of income must meet the criteria below:

- Includes my name and the company's

Is on signed, business letterhead, and

- Is issued within the last 3 months.

Now, I'm wondering how important the second one really is.  I can provide a pay stub, no problem, but do they honestly expect it to be signed and on business letterhead?  Who does that?  I get the paystub from Intuit and it looks pretty bland.  It's directly deposited to my account.  Do I need to ask my company to draft some custom paycheck document on official letterhead with a signature?

Either that, or get an employment letter from your employers which meets the aforementioned requirements.

A pay stub is better than an employer letter.  Fancy is not necessary.  If it has the employer name, your name and the gross pay for a period and year to date information, it's golden.
