Hello everyone,

my aunt has been permanent resident of US for 20 years. Has 20 years green card since 1998.  She want to apply for citizenship but she doesn’t have her husband’s information or spouse’s ex wives information. They are not legally divorced. But they are separated. Does she need spousal information to apply for citizenship? Please reply

See part 10 for what she will need to fill in about her marital history

What if she is separated? She doesn’t have any information about husband. About his previous wives, address or anything else.can she still apply for citizenship because it has been 20 years.

Part 10 still has to be filled in unless she is single which she is not.

"Separated" is an option. She must still remember his name, or she forgets that too? You probably can put unknown for address and stuff that you don't know. But some of the stuff you do know. His birthday, hopefully she remembers that or put unknown.

It probably won't affect her ability to become a citizen, but she still needs to fill out the form as complete as she can. She cannot just not fill in that part because she's separated.

Hmm, this is kind of a strange one. How long has she been separated for? Does she still have a marriage certificate?

i imagine she’ll get a number of questions around this. Did she get her green card through marriage to this person, or another route? (And if the latter, did she sponsor him for a green card?)
