Time frame to transfer the case from NVC to local embassy

You are in the interview queue. How long to get interview is based on your embassy. What embassy please and I can help give you an estimate of time.

The petition doesn't leave NVC until an interview is scheduled.

Thank you. Another question I have is- my mom just renewed her passport as her current one is expiring in January.  So going forward, for biometrics or for any other purpose,  which passport number should we use? And could it complicate things as if I use the new one , it wont match with what they have on file ?

Dont think so 

Cuz when we completed our ds260s my wife and 1 daughter passport was valid for 8 months so nvc send us notice that renew both passport before attending interview I just got renewed but I still ask passport officer to send me expired passport back to me so I will take new n old passport at the time of interview so wont have any issues
