Robot snipers seems like a bad idea. Gonna be just delicious when the sniper kills a kid or the kid's puppy.

Unless you want to say that the robot snipers that fire automatically are just as capable of discretion as a human Israeli sniper. In which case, I'm worried that the robots will get annoyed with all the stupid humans and march on Tel Aviv and Palestine at once. Then I'm pretty sure we end up as batteries for the robots' children.

Just a thought - moderators who have a personal interest in a topic should let others take action on those posts. It's difficult to separate material of personal interest and no mod should be expected to be 100% effective at it. Better they let others do it. That's why we have 3 mods and not one.

Moderating's hard, and it doesn't make it easier when you have to worry about people assuming you're pro-whatever on a issue, or anti-another person. lai didn't decide to delete the post on her own, she responded to a complaint, and right or wrong, if you disagree, you don't start throwing temper tantrums and demanding that people married to Arabs leave the moderating to the pure people, you run it by Ewok or PM the mod like an adult.

Let's just fast forward the next two weeks, mmkay? Lots of people whining how they're being oppressed, lots of people posting "GOOOOO PALESTINE" to prove they they are the poor downtrodden (whoops, looks like that happened already, congrats, you all beat fourteen-year-old gamers), lots of people filing false complaints so they can whine about how "this picture of a popsicle is offensive to me" and whine that no one leapt to delete it, a couple people earn temporary bans, and then everyone calms down.

Israelis never start the war first or any terror acts all they do is protect themselves.

Some people need to realize that the Jewish state is here to stay and that God forbid there are people in this world who believe that Israel has a right to exist and that God forbid Jews also have a right to defend themselves. It is unbelievable that on a strip of land no bigger than New Jersey, Israelis have made the desert bloom without benefit of oil and under the threat of constant terrorism and regional war ,yet it has the highest GDP of all Arab countries combined and is the only functioning democratic country in the Middle East. Israel has nothing but my sympathy and awe.

Considering that the OP thread is essentially talking about a peace that will soon be enforced by the use of robot-controlled 50 caliber machine guns. They use these things to take out vehicles (and also aircraft). I can't comment on the thinking behind it - but that seems rather over the top IMO. I wonder how much it has to do with genuine defence as opposed to sheer intimidation*.

I would say by the looks of some of the virulent anti-Israel sentiment here apparently we need to give them more aid. Too, that aid is generally funneled back into the US with Israeli defense expenditures. But, sure I'd have no problem with Israel getting even more aid as the majority of Americans are with me on this .Sorry, not drinking the Hamas kool-aid today or ever.

If the result is fewer people blowing themselves up or shooting at houses, does it really matter? Why do nations have atomic weapons? Not many would really consider using them except in dire circumstances. They are there for intimidation purposes.

I somewhat agree with your feelings about the dispute; I don't really think it's ludicrous, but it does seem a little long in the tooth and over the top.

Well we agree to disgaree. I will never back down from supporting Israel and neither will the US and if someone gets censored simply for saying Go Israel, I find that disturbing and I will speak on it.
