Toxic Masculinity Is Also a Problem on the Left

I'm not sure I agree with a lot of what the author is saying here, but I do agree with this bit:

"If we cancel folks who do sincerely make an effort to learn, grow and change, simply because they didn't know something or made a mistake, that gets into an elitism of its own."

You sure seem to be enamored with the term "toxic masculinity ".   Perhaps you should just give up on relationships with men.

Is anyone surprised that the political identities the leftist create would be attacking arch other?  Btw, the title is misleading as it is not just white folks or men doing the attacking.

I just seem to get a lot of articles about toxic masculinity in my news feed. You know, you start reading on something and then more articles on the topic get recommended to you. 

 

I don't know why everyone seems so worried about my relationships with men. I had one bad one, one REALLY bad one. I adore men, and I'm love with a particularly good one.  I'm not exactly a candidate for becoming a lesbian at the age of 34!

Well, people on the right do a pretty good job attacking each other too! There's always going to be people who want to apply purity tests.

Absolutely, but this author seemed to just be coming to the realization that it also occurs on the Left among the so called "progressives".

My masculinity is toxic. To slackers, deadbeats, commies,  insecure feminazis,  socialist , poverty pimps and other associated malcontents, social freeloaders,  and pepsi drinkers.  

 

None of you here I think fir any of these categories.

I think it works both ways. I think most men prefer strong women too -- I don't mean the women need to be ball-breakers, I mean that they're not going to break under the slightest pressure, that they can be supportive when things are tough for their partner, that they're team players and don't expect to be "saved" from every small disaster in the world.
