Agreed, and I think we heard the same talk regarding President Obama not so many years ago.  Wishful thinking at best.  The only thing that disappoints me about the 22nd Amendment is that it did not also cover Senators and Representatives in limiting their terms as well.

Not entirely absurd, Trump gets impeached and removed, Pence takes over with less than 2 years left in this term which would allow Pence to run two more times.  I am just curious, do the Leftists think that impeachment nullifies 2016?

No, they want Trump impeached and then they will try to impeach Pence before 2020.

Yeah, they can try I suppose.  I doubt they could get Trump impeached by 2020 as if this ever did go to the Senate, Trump gets to defend himself.  I would love to see him open the books on the swamp.

Many people don't want to see term limits increased for any reason, and I don't think Trump is the guy who can get enough support to see that happen. 

 

  Hard to see any amendment getting enough support  to pass unless it has some appeal for both parties. Democrats obviously wouldn't want to see Trump get a 3rd term, but a lot of Republicans would probably want to see someone else in there too. 

Then you need 2/3 of the state legislatures to approve.

Even a convention results would need to be ratified by 3/4 of the states.

   Yeah, the 27th amendment took over 200 years to ratify. Support for changing the term limit would probably take longer than that.
