Yes I do know it has nothing to do with the rule of law but it does not change the question that I keep asking but no one seems to be addressing. Why not think about the LONG TERM political consequences of not impeaching Trump? If there is evidence (and I am not saying there is, we just don't know yet because the investigation isn't complete) that is enough to support impeachment, and he is not impeached for his actions that would support impeachment, then (1) what is stopping a future president from pardoning him for those actions and (2) what kind of message does not impeaching send IF there is sufficient evidence -- that only things that are politically expedient are worthwhile pursuing? That's really craven. 😕

WHICH investigation isn't complete?? It seems Trump has been under investigation since before he took office.  And has come out clean on it all, AFAIK.

seriously, with this swarm of inept democratic accusers and the vitriol they exhibit and inspire in others what makes you think they think he is impeachable, if he was, he'd be long gone and forgotten. He is not innocent of being a self-centered twit, but despite 2+ years of gnashing their teeth and baying at the moon he is still well entrenched as president, has improving popularity numbers and seems almost a shoe-in for the 2020 election. The Democratic led congress is paralyzed to inaction by his mere presence, politics has become a bunch of cliquey girls claiming girl power and announcing the changing of the guard while doing nothing of any substance to improve what they are touting as the end of the world

Long term political consequences?  Bill Clinton was impeached, how did that work out?  Nixon more than likely would have been impeached and removed from office and how did that work out?  Both parties are still in power in some aspect, both parties have won the WH since, and I imagine that will continue for the foreseeable future.  Regardless, Trump said he would release a transcript of the Ukraine call tomorrow, so the Dems can switch to something else when it comes to impeaching him.  As @ALFKADsaid, Trump has been under investigation non-stop from day one and nothing was found, I doubt if he is willing to release the Ukraine call transcript with what I assume is the OK from the president of the Ukraine, if there was something there.  Maybe the Dems should actually start investigating the last administration as to how they attempted to infiltrate an opposition campaign for their own political benefit.

Well this certainly assures Mr. Trump the win. Not that it was in any doubt, but this seals the deal.

Inquiry versus having impeachment hearings - do it or don’t do it. Choose because you look like muppets otherwise.

it was a waste of time and money and would damage the Democrats because it was likely to be based on things that were made up or weren't really impeachable at all, just things Trump did that made Democrats mad.

Recommendation:  listen to your dad regarding this.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

What's funny is that even the NYT is saying that Trump wants this fight to help ensure a win next year.

That is an interesting thought, was this Trump maneuvering for Nancy to finally pull the trigger?  No, he is too stupid for that.

So last night Alex and I were on the phone discussing the day's events (it is our last week before he moves in with me temporarily until we find our new place together), and we were talking over this AP article about it. He asked me for my opinion, because while he is taking a keen interest in American politics, he isn't completely familiar with all the ins and outs yet. So I spent about 5 minutes explaining what had happened, and possible next steps, and that this was only an investigation and not the actual impeachment, and he just kept saying, "hmmm" and "go on."

And at the end of my speech, which was pretty heartfelt, I asked him what he thought about the article. He said well, I'm looking at it and all I can think from looking at the photo is Pelosi has a rather large pair of baps, don't you think?

😕

I am sorry, is that family friendly?
