Hello, I wonder if someone had the same experience,I think I’m just drained by the process even if i know that it’s a lot of people waiting too. May God bless you.

After a long time, we finally had our interview Wednesday ,November 20 at 8:30 in Kendall, Florida. We married since 1 year. I don’t even know what to say, I prepared all the papers, I have so many proofs and all documents they asked and the officer  didn’t ask for nothing. We had an very nice officer , but I’m really disappointed and scared. He was going through our informations then He was reading questions, I had to answer yes or no, and then the officer talk with my husband about his job and they started to talk like they was friend, I was just seating with all the proof in my hand I was like when he is about to ask me questions, and check our photos. He asked us one question where did you both met?
He had a big folder with my papers since the beginning then he just said « so do you want add something in your folder ? Because it’s pretty thick » so I only gave him bank joint accounts, that’s all I gave him. Then the officer said « ok so the process is that they are going to review your case and you will get an answer in 40 days, I will make sure to speed the process. »
And it was done. I don’t know what to think.

I expect to have questions, I expect him to checks photos, but nothing he asked nothing. I’m really scared and drain by the process :(

Some of you are probably waiting more and probably in worst position i feel like I complain, I’m sorry about that. I just hope to read someone who have been in the same position, I hope you don’t give up, this is very hard for a lot of us, keep faith I promise to you it’s almost done!

Hey, I know it's been a long and hard process and I'd like to encourage you to stay strong :) you're almost done and everything will work out, I promise!

I actually think that no questions asked was a good thing. The same thing happened to my husband during his embassy and point of entry interviews where they never asked him any questions even though he was prepared for them. Most likely, everything looked good to the interviewer and he did not need to ask any questions he already knew the answer to.

Pretty sure that is fairly typically. Chances are your case will change to card is being produced early next week. People tend to WAY overthink things. You do not tons of of proof for AoS interview from K-1. They know people have limited amount of resources, cannot work, some do not even have SSN, so not much is needed. We had 3 pages of pictures and some documents with shared account names (like utilities etc)
They do not spend looking at that, they are rather talk to person and get a feel for the answers. Usually it is a friendly conversation, not really interrogation.

Shiran, thanks for always being a voice of reason.  We plan to show up with some photos, copies of utility statements, bank statement, proof she is an authorized user on credit cards, health insurance card, originals of birth certificates/divorce decrees, our certified marriage certificate and passports.  Just for the heck of it.  Who knows how much of this we will need when the time comes.  Everything we bring will be organized into a nice binder.

Other than that we're bringing our physical bodies and will answer questions as asked.  After the interview we're going to the North End for some coffee and cannolis.

We recently got the text from USCIS saying our status changed. Looks like we'll be getting the Interview date in the mail. I'm so surprised since we are doing it through the San Jose office and it can take up to 2 years. So we're a little anxious and dying to know when. But about how far from the notice are interviews scheduled out?

I'm traveling to Sweden tomorrow. Do I need anything other than my ead card when reenter the US? Should I bring my notices about my application?? 🤔😱

Unexpired AP or combo card. EAD alone will not suffice.

The ead is a combo card, my mistake.

Congratulations!  And to answer your question, our timelines are very close.  We started three weeks before you, but we also got an RFIE which took us a month to respond to. Our EAD approval date is the same but we got the card earlier. It's very interesting to compare our experiences!  Let me know when you get your interview date. We're anxiously awaiting. Our lawyer is expecting the interview to be held 5 weeks from the notification.
