No word on EAD, but nearing deadline for a job

Hey guys,

Filed for EAD, separately from AOS, in the second week of March and got the biometric done in the second week of April. However, no news since then, and I have a job I have to start within a couple of weeks that will be in danger if I don't get my EAD in time which is making me nervous as hell (they will give the job to someone else who can start). I see in March filers thread, and even in the April filers thread, in the AOS forum that people who have similar timelines have both their AOS and EAD approved. Don't understand what's going on with my application. Maybe I should've applied both AOS and EAD together. Is there anything I can do to get this EAD on time? I desperately need this job and don't want to lose it. :crying:

Will the interim EAD be of any help? How exactly does one get this? 90 days after applying, or 90 days from the "notice date"? What is the process for this, do you just walk in or file a form? And lately I've also been reading that they have stopped issuing this now?

Please help.

ps: I initially posted this under the AOS forum but later got directed here.

If you have not heard anything on day 91 you can make an infopass appointment at ypur local office to ask then to contact NBC to request that they make a decision about your EAD or issue an interim EAD.... they no longer issue interim EAD's at local offices so this is all you can do...

Hope you hear something soon...

Kez

unfortunately the 91st day is not the magic bullet it once was. Sure you can make an infopass appt to get them to *inquire* about your EAD application, but you will wind up waiting again. Hopefully your EAD will adjudicated timely, it just may not be timely enough.
