It's like, how many blue, and white, and blue and white striped buttondown shirts does one man need?

At last inventory, I had 220 dress-shirts.

Easy to accumulate them when almost none have been bought at retail price.

My wife also want's it to feel like back in Russia, but unfortunately she is thinking more of the time she spent in Tashkent growing up. It's usually mid to high 80's in the house when I get home. It's getting to the point where I regret showing her how to adjust the thermostat.

Funny, but my wife did not grow up in Siberia, but was born and raised near Osh KGZ, not far from Tashkent.  She did go to university in Yaroslavl Russia which she liked much better.  Same here about the thermostat.  We just got a new one and it was great for a few months when she did not know how to work it.

I don't even own a pen, unless you count the three I brought home from hotels.  But they are not truly owned, more of a long-term lease option.

I mean, I get buying multiples of a good, well-constructed basic. I myself own 5 plain James Perse black tshirts and 5 plain white ones. Very simple, but the fit and drape are superior to anything else out there. I wash them on gentle and hang dry them to prolong their life. But Alex has nearly 50 shirts which is excessive. There's no need to accumulate so much stuff. While I also buy some vintage clothing, it has to be something unique and of the highest quality. I take care of my possessions and don't squander cash. I can afford fripperies but I am frugal, mostly. My weakness is bags, I'm afraid. I just bought a new Ferragamo one and it's gorgeous but it does make me feel like a hypocrite lecturing Al about retail therapy. 😭

I don't even think I could live by myself in 500 sq ft.

We often like to take vacations and stay in tiny houses. The last one was about 400sq ft. We started out wondering if we could actually adapt our lives to live in something like that. After about a week's stay, we realized it was a vacation-only thing, even though it was spacious and had every luxury you could think of by tiny house standards. It had a full size kitchen and bathroom, vaulted ceilings, two 'bedrooms' and a very lovely living area. We could have made it work if only it had more storage. My book collection is vast and there is no real closet space either so that would make living difficult. We never found it cramped although the lofts needed more headroom.

My sister recently lost her mind when her boyfriend refused to throw out all of his Costco and Hanes tees, which she said made her look cheap when they were out together. So she threw them out for him and replaced them with John Varvatos and James Perse ones. My sister is... special.

For a true pen as weapon experience, I highly recommend a sturdy fountain pen. The nib is sharp and can be quite lethal with some force. ;)

Tactical defense pen works better. Breaks windshield glass. Cuts seat belts. Disables attackers. Laser pointer if you need one.

Oh yeah, and you can sign the check for dinner with it.

I donate mine once I get above the 20-30 range. Otherwise they just sit in the closet for years adding to my overall space requirements. :D

My ex, an American woman, never did figure out the thermostat. It was a Nest or something like it. There was a point she did figure it out, but I had an app and just reset it, so she decided she hadn't figured it out after all. ;)

I agree with that. I can tolerate about a week or so before I start feeling it. We tend to spend most time on vacation outside though, so the lack of space isn't as noticeable.

That's just mean. I used to have a Nest and I always thought I was putting it on Cool but somehow it ended up on Eco mode all the time. It was really frustrating. I'd even try to adjust it on the Nest device itself but somehow it just reverted to Eco.

Well, I like small. For right now. :innocent: Check in with me after I've decided to buy another big house when I can't take having to deal with living in close proximity to someone who still thinks at the age of 34 that maybe, just maybe, he can be in a successful band. I need a soundproof room for his terrible bass playing!
