Remember that is at the soonest. It could be way longer depending on many factors. Pakistani applicants are heavily scrutinized so be prepared. Just have patience 

Our CR1 Journey:

 

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

 

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

 

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

 

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

Yes Priority date is February 21st 2017.  Pakistan Consulate is extremely tough on relationships with red flags.   

 

Why did you not marry in Pakistan?  Is your wife Desi?  Has she met your family?

 

In our case we married on the first visit and are both divorced.   I was not muslim when we met in 2016 but had been studying the Quran since 2014 (I was taking Theology classes and sparked interest in other faiths) and converted in 2018.  The question of my faith was not an issue at either interview (wasn't even asked at 2nd) but some are scrutinized for having different faiths.  The divorces and meeting on online were both issues they had that we had to address.

 

We do not have a large age gap and have visited  6 times so far (planning our 7th).  

 

Every case is different and you could be lucky but be prepared for the worst.  I wish I did....I was totally unprepared for this process to take this long.  It's agonizing...and I wouldn't wish on anyone.

you know i married in Philippines because it was her choice to be married there and her father country  even i cant take any security risk . she did not meet my family but soon she is coming to Pakistan for 5 6 days INSHYALLAH . she is not desi she is American . yes we have a age gap ... that's the only  fear i have ...

It took them 14 months to open our papers.
