My dad and mom file their tax returns jointly. I plan on putting my dad as a co-sponsor. Do I need another i-864A form to fill out with my mom info's? They both share the same tax returns and bank account so everything would be same mostly.

Do you need to use Mom's income to meet the poverty guidelines?

Does you and your Dad's individual income combined not meet it?

To figure out what Dad's individual income is youll have to use his earnings statement rather than their combined income on their jointly filed taxes...

Lemme know and ill advise further....

If it's using 100% poverty guideline, then my dad's individual income is just enough for 2018. For 2017 and 2016, I also had income so together it's more than enough. I don't know how seriously our assets are taken into consideration, that would put us into $300k+.

The guideline for AOS is 125%. It's only 100% if the original sponsor is active military.

If Dad's individual income plus your individual income doesnt meet 125% then you can either 1. add Dad's individual (in his name only) assets or 2. add Mom as a second co-sponsor.

What you'll need to provide/fill out will be dependent on what assets you use or if you choose 2. instead.

Ok, I'll add my mom as a second co-sponsor and put their individual income and assets. On the savings account, they have joint savings so do I put that amount for both forms? Since they share same tax returns, do I need to get a second one? I'll add dad and mom's W2s together.

You I864.

Dad I864a.

Mom I864a.

No. Only one would be able to claim the total savings as an asset.

Yes. Get a second Return Transcript for Mom.

Each I864/I864a needs its own supporting evidence to be safe.

What do you mean by add D & Ms W2s together?

On YOUR I864 as the original sponsor, Dad's W2 income will be in Part 6 Question 10 and Mom's will be in Part 6 Q 13.

All three if your individual incomes will be added together in Part 6 Q20.

Then youll move on to the assets section and input the individual assets.

Ok, understood. That explains it clearly.

I didn't mean actually add W2s, but include mom and dad and only have one joint return as evidence. I'll get two just to be safe.
