Okay, flagging since this is not a F2A related query (I too have have had queries from this thread). 

 

Short answer: The NVC books appointments based on the consulates appointment availability based on the oldest CC/DQ case that has a PD that is current.

 

Long Answer: Priority Date (PD) is irrelevant to getting an appointment (ONLY if your PD is current).  Meaning if your PD is not current there is no scheduling of your appointment possible.  If your PD IS current then it is only dependent on when your case was compete (CC, another term of equal meaning is Documentarily Qualified (DQ)).  The NVC books appointments based on the consulates appointment availability based on the oldest CC/DQ case that has a PD that is current.  The NVC books appointments based on the consulates appointment availability based on the oldest CC/DQ case that has a PD that is current.  Sadly for most in this thread, it seems each visa class has different queues and F2A seems to be one of the longest.

Hi guys, I started this thread to gather people on the same category as I do. Initially, I thought that there is only a few of us on the F2A category in Montreal, but surprisingly more people are joining the thread. That is why I always encourage those who are on a different category to start a forum to meet other applicant on the similar category.

 

I am not an expert at this but to answer most of your questions, based on the sequence of timeline from all the threads that I follow and based on the members that we have on this thread, it seems like Montreal embassy is scheduling the interview dates based on the date the application was DOCUMENTARILY QUALIFIED not based on the Priority date. The average wait time from the time of the DQ to IL/ID is 8-9 months.

 

 It would be very helpful for all of us if you guys can update us after you received a notification for your interview dates. Please send me a message if you are on F2A category and will be interviewed at the Montreal embassy specifically. Thank you.

In that case, why all Above listed applicants not trying to expedite their interview dates because according to NVC protocol they say that interview will be scheduled between 30 to 90 days after DQ. F2A has been current for 7 consecutive months any consulate should have been able to clear any outstanding applications and interview wait times should be within 30 to 90 days. Even MUMBAI super busy consulate average timeline between DQ to ID is 3-5 months. Share your thoughts guys. This is indeed a great platform to help each other. Thanks 🙏🏾

You can't say that we have NOT BEEN TRYING to expedite our interview dates. I have made several calls and letters to both NVC and Montreal embassy. Expediting interview dates is not an option for them. NVC responds a very vague answer to my request. They said that there is a queue awaiting for an interview appointments. Also, the Montreal embassy stated, during that time, that they only give away dates to the NVC and they are the ones who will fill up the available dates given to them. Each embassies are different.

In fact unless it is for medical or emergency reasons expedite requests are basically automatically denied.

To request a review for expedite, please submit a letter (or statement) to the NVC from a physician (or medical facility). The letter must include the physician’s (or medical facility’s) contact information, and declare a life or death medical emergency exists. This documentation may be in the form of a scanned attachment to an e-mail.

If a visa is not available, unfortunately there is nothing that the NVC can do to expedite the petition. Immigrant visa processing is governed by the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, as amended, which controls availability of visas. There is no provision within the law that would allow the Department of State to issue a visa to someone for whom a visa is unavailable."

So what can be done? From ur comments I understood that our target should be NVC only and not the embassy. We all @montreal applicants have to work out something. Definitely not going to wait for 5-6 months after DQ. I am watching another forums and i see manila embassy, ukraine and even mumbai interview F2A average from DQ to interview date is hardly 2 months.

Long queue should have been interviewed already since F2A has been current for almost 7 months.

The lengthy wait time is likely due to a long queue at the consulate, not NVC. I don't think you fully understand the sponsorship process or what F2A current really means. If you believe something more can be done to speed up the interviews at the MTL consulate then you're more than welcome to figure it out.

If you go in deep with your search even on visa journey itself. They have so many timelines for 2013-2014 when F2A was current last time. DQ to ID was barely 3-4 months max. I definitely understand entire process. I never said that long queue at NVC. You fully need to understand my previous messages. I said that i agree there should be a long wait at Montreal consulate for F2a applicants but so as many other consulates. Even consulates with high applicants flow then MTL e.g. Mumbai, manila amongst others. How come NVC is able to serve DQ F2A applicants within 2-3 months at other consulates and not at MTL. This is the myth.

You are right! There are certain criteria you need to meet for you to do that.

Quite frankly, I've read your messages multiple times and I still don't understand whether your issue is the time it takes for an applicant to be deemed documentarily qualified, or the time it takes for an interview to be scheduled. There's a long wait - we're all aware. What's your point? That we should request to expedite? Many of us have.
