There is absolutely very less information available for F2A interviews happening at Montreal. Please keep sharing your experiences. According to NVC protocol they schedule interview if “PD IS CURRENT & APPLICATION IS DQ” Within 30 to 90 Days. If consulate is busy like Mumbai we can see information rolling on internet but Thts not the case.

So far, the average wait till we get the ID from the time we received the DQ for F2A visa category is 9-10 months.

I found this article last month after doing some research on the topic. (delays with consular processing through Montreal)

https://www.gands.com/knowledge-centre/blog-post/insights/2019/10/16/border-and-consular-updates-for-u.s.-fiscal-year-2019

Interesting point can be found at the bottom:

"The other key development that has been a significant burden are the delays with processing of permanent resident applications through the U.S. Consular Services.  We have been seeing delays via the National Service Center transfers of cases to the Immigrant Visa Unit at the U.S. consulate in Montreal.   Those delays can be between 3-5 months.  We hope to start to see those delays clear, but unfortunately there is very little insight available on the process and the cause of the delays.   Therefore, we have to continue to monitor. "

There is a reason why I made this forum exclusively for family based visa - F2A to be specific. I was following the IR1/CR1 visa before and they have been getting IL/ID months ahead than F2A. IR/CR visa have shorter waiting times that F visas.

There is a very limited info and forums made for F2A category in Montreal. That is why it is important for me to know if we are all on the same track.

Thank you for the response.  I am newer to this tortuous process so I have followed many threads to get a proper sense of the mysteries.  Clearly from your knowledge there are different queues.  Good luck on your journey.

This is a forum/list for people in the F2A category. F2Bs are a different family sponsored preference.

@PrinsesaVii looks like you're next - fingers crossed. I hope your IL comes in the next few days.

Then we need to file requests or do something to make montreal consulate act faster. In other forums, in general trends NVC is acting in normal pace. Here they mention that NVC is sending cases late. Let’s get together and explore new windows to move fast with our F2A applications.

Hi @Matt2019

Yes, but I mentioned being both DQ and PD current. From what I have seen and read, if your PD is not current, the consulate does not do anything. Your PD became current after being DQ'ed right?

It is a long wait anyway...

Once PD is current. Are thy looking Oldest DQ to schedule the interview? My Pd become current only on Nov 2019 VB but have a DQ from Sep 2018

It seems like some embassies/consulates look at the DQ date, but not sure if this is the case for Montreal.
