What are all your thoughts on this?  Will Montreal expedite other visas now that immediate relative category is mostly caught up?  We have F2As (Family Preference) still waiting from DQ in 2019 and we are now early 2022.  So a 2-year+ wait?  Hoping this list is a good representation of how many are waiting.   I know that the pandemic did not help the matter.  I am October 2021 DQ so likely have a long wait   Glad to have this group for support.  Mike

We will know more when they issue ILs in February. January ILs did not cover enough. They covered IR/CR till Nov 2021 and K1 visas till Oct 2021. My only concern is the rising COVID cases in Canada and if that impacts the consulate operations. However as long as the following stays green, we should be fine:

Also let's hope that they continue to process 550-600 visas every month so that they run out of IR/CR and K1 inventory and start to focus on F and E category. Here is the statistics for last 12 months of visa issuance.

I am hopeful they focus on other categories also but based on the spreadsheets, I don't think that anything is going to be changing anytime soon. I am Nov 2021 DQ (employment based). The tiered processing guidance was rescinded because it was unlawful, yet Montreal continues to prioritize IR/CR. It is ridiculous that one category is current and others have an over 2 year wait. ☹️
