Hi all, we got the IL from NVC too. The interview date is Mar 23, 2020.

That's incredible!

If I'm not mistaken it took you 197 days to get your interview letter and it took @aaz206 days.

Very happy for all of you!

I guess Canada is in great shape compared with other places. Hopefully nobody will be screwed up. I think next week is your turn to get IL. We should stay positive. Keep us update my friend.

As long as the consulate remains open(and it is), we should be fine. Both Trump and Trudeau have stated that they are not, at least for now, going to close the US/Canadian border. Stay positive and healthy. You'll get your letter soon.

"As of March 17, 2020, the United States Embassy and all Consulates General in Canada are cancelling all routine nonimmigrant visa appointments.  The Consulate General in Montreal continues to process immigrant visas but depending on staffing capacity and host government restrictions, may need to reduce routine immigrant visa appointments.  We are monitoring the situation closely and will notify applicants as quickly as possible should it be necessary to reschedule."

So far there is no impact to immigrant visa appointments. Keep eyes on any updates...

I guess all interviews are cancelled as all USCIS offices are closed at least until April 1,2020.

USCIS and Consulates are different entities so I don't think all interviews are cancelled due to USCIS closure.

Anyway, just wanted to update that our case (F2A) became DQ today, if you don't mind updating the table thanks!

I pray to God that you are right. We have all waited so patiently for this. It would be so unfair. I tried calling USCIS call centre for Montreal but could not get connected to a representative.  If anybody else can get any definite answer please keep us updated.

That's great news @n86. It means NVC is still at work.

As of right now the Consulate is still processing immigrant visas, which applies to all of us. Since they stopped working on non-immigrant visas, this can potentially speed things up for us. I know I'm being quite optimistic. The bad news is that Trump  and Trudeau are going to close the border for non-essential travel. Americans and Canadians will still be able to go home during this closure. I just hope the consulate remains open while this occurs.

Stay positive.

I just saw this as well.  We are actually in the USA (NY) awaiting our appointment at the Montreal consulate.  I wonder if travelling for a visa appointment is considered "essential" travel or not.

Truly, the timing of this thing is impeccable 😭

More importantly though, everyone stay safe out there!  Keep indoors as much as possible and be well.  Oh, and don't hoard the toilet paper!

I think Montreal consulate general starts cancelling the immigrant interview. I received a mail `Information for visa applicants regarding novel coronavirus - Your appointment at the U.S. Consulate will be cancelled` this morning...😭

And some new updates on the website: https://ca.usembassy.gov/mission-canada-change-in-operations-due-to-covid-19/
