Hello everyone,

Filling out the DS 260 and can’t figure out what to put in the petitioner address section. Is it the current (foreign) address? Or do we put in permanent (USA) address?

The permanent address she (petitioner) hasn’t lived at in a long while now. Basically it’s her uncle’s home, where she first lived when going to the USA. Her USA bank account etc are linked to it, though.

Thanks in advance!

Permanent address is where all the correspondence is sent. Basically, it’s a mailing address. Physical address is where a person lives and can be found at.

In your case I’d put the US as the permanent, and the foreign as a physical one.

Thanks for your response and clarification.  I understand the different addresses. However, as shown in the picture below, the DS 260 only asks for the ‘address’ of the petitioner without specifying permanent or physical. Hence I asked which one to put down. Kindly help. 78DF1B10-06FE-46C6-9A23-005CCB4ABE11.thumb.png.cc300b4536f7fa80cbf465c890f12e77.png
