Hello,

My parents have their interview in two weeks.

The petition was already approved.

Does anyone knows what documents they must take for the interview?and what type of questions they should expect?

Will that consulate have all the information that Ihave sent to the NVC in U.S.? May parents don't have to take any of the documents I have already sent, right?

Thank you!!!!!

An interview for what type of visa?

Most information is available on your consulate website. For example, for a visitor visa:

http://www.embaixada-americana.org.br/inde...amp;itemmenu=58

What documentation is required for a visa application?

A Passport valid for travel to the United States with a validity date at least six months beyond the applicant's intended period of stay in the United States. Old passports with U.S. visas should also be presented.

An Application Form DS-156 completed and signed. Only original forms will be accepted (Blank forms are available without charge at the Embassy gate from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or at the accredited travel agencies or downloaded and printed from the consular webpage). All fields must be filled. In case of children under 13 years old, a parent or legal representative must sign the form.

A Supplemental Visa Application Form DS-157 completed and signed by all applicants over 16 years old.

A payment receipt from Citibank of the application fee.

A recent color photo taken within the past six months, 5x5cm (or 5x7cm), showing full face, against light background.

Documents that give supporting evidence of strong links to Brazil (eg.: labor card, income tax returns, pay slips, marriage and birth certificates, corporate documents, bank statements, school statements, etc

Did your parents receive interview letter from the Embassy? The letter should say what documents to bring for interview.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

they have sent to my email the instructions packet. My problem is that all the forms that they are asking were already sent to the NVC. The instructions are for beneficiaries of American citizens who live in Brazil. And I (petitioner) live in U.S. (that's why all the forms were sent to the NVC).

My question is: how will the consulate know that the forms were already sent and approved?

what if they get there and the officer ask for the forms again :help:

Let me try again:

When a immigrant visa petition is approved in U.S., will the consulate receive all the information regarding this case? :help::blush:

Yes, the consulate receives everything. What are the documents that the consulate asking from you that you had already submitted to NVC? You can email and ask for clarification.
