Hello everyone, i kinda have a silly question,im helping a friend process their petition.

in the form g-325a, it says there about the maiden name of the wife. and the wife is widowed before, should i still put the maiden name, name before she got married and got widowed?or should i put her name with the family name using her late husband's surname?

i know its kinda obvious, but i just wanna make sure that im doing the right thing. thank you guys in advance for the help.

thank you for the quick answer.  does that I-130a need a physical signature also of the wife just like the G-325a?

Nope, the foreign spouse does not need to sign the I130a if they are overseas. I130a doesn't ask for the beneficiary spouse's previous names, but I130 does, so make sure to list them all on there. There's only space on there to list 1 previous name, so I would list the most recent name before the current name first, and then list all other previous names under Part 9: Additional Information. Neither forms are assigned as "husband" or "wife", but "petitioner" and "beneficiary". The I130 is typically about the petitioner with some basic info on the beneficiary, and the I130a (supplemental information for spouse beneficiary) is, of course, about the beneficiary spouse

No problem and good luck! Keep in mind the petitioner will still have to wet sign the I130, but the I130a does not have to be signed. Make sure to have your friend thoroughly read the instructions for both forms

Is the husband the USC or the beneficiary?

Then no, nothing else is needed.  The process is exactly the same for ex military as it is for current military as it is for never military.  The only difference is active military may use 100% of the poverty guidelines vs 125%.  My husband was in the USAF.

Only if the spouse beneficiary is physically present in the United States. If the spouse beneficiary is not physically in the United States, a signature is not required; same for passport-style photos. See Note 1 under "who may file form I130?" in the instructions for information on the signature requirements for I130a, and item 5.a under "general requirements" also in the instructions for information on passport-style photo requirements
