A lovely picture and quote thereof have had to be removed.  Family-friendliness, TOS, etc.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

This has indeed been Ewokian policy for some time. I recall getting bent out of shape about it myself, having had a particular post featuring a fully clad female figure in a pair of Juicy Couture tracksuit bottoms removed for being suggestive. Suggestive of what, I wasn't sure, because it really was just a pair of tracksuit bottoms on a woman with a woman's behind. Not even a particularly juicy one! 

 

It is an odd policy, to be sure. I of course cleave very closely to the TOS so I have fully internalized my hatred and let it course through my gelid veins. I only regret I missed the opportunity to see exactly what was removed. Must have been ... bouncy.

Perhaps we need a "secure folder" on VJ wherein prescreened candidates could access and peruse images deemed insufficiently family friendly. I would not subscribe myself to such a folder (I am of course like Caesar's wife, and must be above suspicion), but I can think of any number of (men)folk on here who might appreciate such a perk. I volunteer to take on prescreening duties as a legacy member, one should give back a little to the community.

The VJ ToS is a wonderful thing but as this situation shows it is beyond the understanding of mere mortals.

I would guess some of those matters have less to do with "offending delicate sensibilities of gentle users" and more with this site, to the best of my knowledge, is entirely advertisement supported, and they do not want to be blacklisted by cruel AI from lucrative ad streams for too much flesh tone coloured images as that would directly affect revenue. I recall at least few invasions where out right soft porn was posted, and showed up on the title page as "recent images" That probably made for a fun night for mods/admins.

You should see the post I found yesterday when I was looking for something totally unrelated! :lol:  Let's just say I now know where I can get a massage in Ho Chi Minh City where the masseuses sport a LOT of underboob. :whistle:
