Hi everyone, there are some fields that are giving us trouble on finding concrete answers exactly what to put so as we run across them we are going to put them in this thread, as well as questions about fields on the other AOS packet forms (we know we will run into them lol), thank you in advance for all the help!

On the I-485 our first question is about field # 2.a - 2.c on Other names you have used since birth, do we put for her Just the previous maiden name used since birth and leave the first/middle names empty since those are staying the same or re-write the same first/middle name she is keeping with her new married name?

Next question is question 22.a

included the picture, not sure which to check, we have done some research online, and looking at the completed example I-485 with VJ and it checks 22.a and then types in the space for 22.a, but on the new updated I-485 when you check 22.a it doesn't let you type "Nonimmigrant Fiance Visa Holder" like it does in the example I-485, so not sure how to go about this question, just check 22.a and type in the Other, or how does this one work?

Another question is for question 24 in part 1. where it asks what is your current immigration status- what exactly do we put, we are filing after the I-94 has expired, about a month after is has expired do we put "out-of-status"  or, we have seen         "I-485 Pending"

What is the priority date for K-1 visa holders?  I am reading in places that we don't have to put it, but on others I am reading it is the date you received the NOA1?  this is for question 4 part 2.

Put "N/A"

Re-write the same first/middle name.

It's not applicable for all Immediate Relatives of US Citizens (as defined in the INA). Per the instructions, it's only applicable to immigration categories that must wait until the petition is approved and PD is current before I-485 can be filed: https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-485instr.pdf Page 4

which wouldn't that apply here, the I-129F must be approved for the K-1 visa before we can file I-485

Read the correct reply from old time VJ member, KayDeeCee:

There are no priority dates for I-129F petitions/K-1 visas. K-1 visas are unlimited and therefore require no priority dates. http://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/visa-availability-priority-dates

The priority date is left blank on the I-129F approval notice. If something asks for priority date for a K-1, then use the receipt date.

This answer was found through the use of the VJ Forum Google Search function. Google can also be your friend.

Have you taken the time to review the VJ already filled-out Form I-485? https://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-485.pdf , refer to page 10 of that form? As also mentioned, if you are unsure of your answer for that question and many others, provide an explanation in Part 14 of the application.

Yeah we have the example filled out I-485 with us here and are looking at it as we go along, just asked because on the example they are all no's and the box for the out-of-status was left blank, would it be better to put no, and then explain why we think it is no or do we put yes for her and explain, we were edging towards saying no and explaining, but if there are concrete answers would be amazing

Again thanks in advance for all the help, you all been amazing so far, I-485 almost finished

The terms of your K1 were to marry within 90 days. You have not  violated the conditions
