Hello, I need your help -

I received an RFE after my AOS interview today asking me to submit Police Clearance Records from each place I lived in the last 5 years and that includes the Philippines. This is due to my fingerprints being unreadable/unclassifiable. :(

I was wondering if anyone knows the process of getting an NBI Clearance from the PH Embassy in Washington D.C.? Do I need to get an appointment or is it okay to walk-in? I checked their website and it shows a link for an online appointment (QLess Consular Appointment) but does not list NBI Clearance services as an option. More on Passport/Visa, Dual Citizenship etc.

If anyone can point me to a guide, or help me with an overview, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

That guide is actually pretty easy to follow which is surprising

Thank you! Reading it now. It looks like it's okay to walk-in. I can shoot them an email too just to make sure.

This is great! Again, thanks for the help!

Then you get a HIT and you have to come back after 10 days LOL

Joking aside I wonder if you do get those things at the PH embassy here in the US.

My wife always gets a HIT, when we got her NBI but forgot to put her AKA so we had to do it again. We used the previous NBI reference number to avoid the hit, and she got hit again. Despite a big giant sign in the NBI satellite office explaining how to avoid it.

I find that sort of funny as there is an NBI in your case file at USCIS already .. all goes to show you the left hand does not talk to the right hand.

You can order the NBI online, but I would bet it will still require a trip to the Philippine embassy for fingerprints.

I get that every time I apply for a renewal. :D

No, apparently you can't get it at the PH Embassy. They supply you with the forms and such, but you send it back to the PH. It's a long wait for me. Good thing the IO gave me 3 months to get it done.

Hey Hank -

I agree. My NBI Clearance was there in the file during my interview. Maybe because it expired? I dunno ... The whole process prolongs my anxiety - I mean, if there was a problem during my biometrics, could they have just called me in again to do another set? I remember doing the machine biometrics and the rolling fingerprints too so they have a backup of it. Oh well, gotta do what's required, I suppose. :D

Still it is odd that they didn't request you complete a new biometrics ..  Oh well.   He who has the gold makes the rules.  ;)

Hope it all goes smoothly for you.
