After You Receive NOA 2 & You Get A "Case Ready" Status, Does That Ever Expire To Book An interview Date? Reason Why I Am Asking Is Because I Am Trying To Plan A Wedding Date. We Filed K1 in beginning of August & Our Estimated NOA2 Approval Date Is November. Yes, I Do Know That It May Be Shorter Or Longer. My Question Is Would Planning A Wedding Date Of The End Of June Be Feasible? Basically I'm Asking, If We Got Approval Around That Estimated Time Can I Wait To Schedule The Interview Closer To The June Time Frame Or Does That Case Ready Status Expire If You Dont Book An Interview Within A Certain Time Frame? Also, If I Do Wait A While To Book An Interview, Can I Still Pay For The DS160 And Fill It Out In Advance Before Scheduling For An Interview? I Have That 6 Month Window From Date Of Interview For Him To Enter So Wondering What Opinions Are On This Or If Anyone Can Give Input. Thank you!

Once you are at READY status on CEAC (meaning the embassy has your case file) you have up to one year to complete the visa process (meaning an issued visa).    Most embassies will automatically extend the validity of the Petition, a few you may have to call them to request this.

There is not a fee with the DS-160, and yes you can complete this once you are at READY status as well.

You can pay the visa fee  and then do next to nothing until you are ready (within the limits of the "up to one year").

A cardinal rule of the forum is to not make any non-refundable/non-changeable plans, such as, wedding, travel, parties, until your passport is in your hand, and the visa is in the passport. If you do otherwise, you run the likely risk of having to change your plans, or lose your deposits, serious disappointment to say the least. There are far too many variables in the timing of K1 visa process to be able to plan any events with certainty.

Please refrain from capitalizing the first letter of every word in your statements. It Is Very Distracting, And Makes It Very Hard To Read.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Hank, it looks like their timeline indicates that their interviewing embassy is in Nigeria.....

Please know that the embassy does not have to extend the expiry date and their has been a couple of people denied recently because their interview was after the expiry date. That was the only date available.

I for sure would not rely on the embassy Nigeria or anyone else to allow you to sit around for a year after NOA2 to make an interview appointment. No way I would do that.
