Sorry if there is already a thread started about this. I looked and couldn't find one.

Anyone know what will happen to people waiting for F3 visas if Trump makes the immigration changes he's proposing for October 15th?

Will we be an automatic no?

We have completed all processing and were documentarily qualified July 26 2019 (CC). So just waiting on our interview appointment at the Canada Montreal consulate.

With being already deemed qualified with our documents and fully processed minus the interview I wonder what would happened if they make these changes to family visas. Anyone know anything?

Thank you!

The chances of Congress agreeing to any changes are so minimal as to be beyond belief.

Cases don’t become an automatic no just because of a change in a law like this with no reason. You haven’t specified why you are worried. Is your sponsor borderline on income? If so it might be an issue anyway, public charge determination is not an automatic yes if minimum income is met either.

if you are talking about something other than the public charge rule - then you have your wires crossed.

Yes that's what I mean. But also I heard he wants to end all family visas of citizens sponsoring adult children which is us. I'm not concerned about the income thing. We've never been on government assistance nor will need to if we are allowed to move. But I didn't know if they stopped the F3 visas like I've heard, what would happen to people already almost completely processed. Is it an automatic no? Do we have to go through the merit point system even though we've alreadybeen deemed "qualified" ?

I really just wondered how it would affect people already processed if they changed it.

Yes that I guess. I heard you will have to go through a merit point system. But also that they want to take away certain visas like F3 especially citizens sponsoring adult children wich is us.

I'm not really concerned about the income issue. We haven't been on government assistance ever nor will we need to when we move but it sounds like they don't want family sponsoring adult children anymore either.

But since we've already been processed and waiting for our interview, if they change that what would happen to our case. Automatic no? Do we go through the point system to see if we still qualify?

The proposal to limit the types of visas available was introduced a while ago and has made no progress. It is very unlikely for that to change anytime soon.

Oh phew! Good to know! I read on the USCIS website yesterday that even the public charge change on effect new applications starting October 15th so hopefully same thing if they ever do remove visa types.

Yeah yeah they proposed that when Trump first took office. It is getting absolutely nowhere whatsoever.

Oh good!!
